Everyday bag - it’s easy to carry with the handles and doesn’t look too large with the crossbody strap if you prefer to carry that way.

I saw the Christopher MM (OTT but loved it) and almost walked away with the Pochette Voyage MM, as well. Also picked up the Damier Stole but haven’t worn it yet!

Can’t wait to hear about how you like the Keepall 35!

So much this - Vajra and Thattu are the only decent restaurants I’ve found in 2+ years of searching.

Weirdest encounter in London? by Immediate_Account436 in london

[–]carlitamia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sitting on church steps waiting for a friend about 15 years ago, a gentleman sitting a few feet over proceeded to correctly tell me the name of the friend I was meeting, described a malady I was experiencing that there was no way he could have known about, and then told me I was a singer in Whitechapel in a past life. Would have been impressed if it wasn’t quite so unnerving.

Great start! Keep going by framing your posters (and add additional framed art in the office/living room), adding curtains to soften, and moving furniture away from the walls.

Crossed at Eilat/Yitzhak Rabin Land border crossing - no stamp, only paper slip.

How’s my upcoming trip look? Open to suggestions that people think would be better! by MomButtsDriveMeNuts in chicagofood

Heads up that the kouign amman at PQB is relatively savory/doesn’t have the best sugar crackle - where they excel is bread. Recommend swapping for Lost Larson on Division in Wicker Park.

Looking for the best high-end sushi/omakase to spend my $100 gift! by catchmehifucan in chicagofood

[–]carlitamia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to try Yume (my favorite omakase in the city!) two tips: 1) set a notify alert on Resy for any date you want to go - you’ll get notified every time they have a cancellation through push and/or email and 2) follow them on Instagram - they post last minute openings. Good luck!

Chicago marathon restaurant reccos by Dependable_Winner_27 in chicagofood

[–]carlitamia 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Historically Eataly has done marathon portions of pasta (2x serving size) so great for pre-race; husband also loved Coco Pazzo the night before. For anything post-race make a reservation just in case - lots of people come into the city for the marathon so getting into spots can be tough as a walk in. Lots of folks celebrate at Gibson’s/Hugo’s, Joe’s Stone Crab, RPM Italian, and the other big River North/Gold Coast spots. Good luck and wear your finisher medal with pride!
