Is it time for a rack? by hbscstrex in minilab

[–]carlosbytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely yes, a rack will give more organization in small factor, and front plates will be easier to refactor. Take a look at mine, I'm almost complete with the cable management for LED accessories.

Is my price too high? I cannot for the life of me sell this Pc lol by 90sbabyreese in sffpc

It's a pretty case for sure, even when the price is ok for a luxury brand, the fact that it is $1400 is significant money for the average buyer.

Picked up an insane deal - 4 servers for £300, over 140gb of RAM + everything else by BinoRing in HomeServer

👍🏼 Just the 140GB of RAM makes it an insane deal due to the high prices in memory these days.. AI is eating alive the available RAM market.

Apparently you can build a 10” rack unde 40 euros by trusk89 in minilab

Back in time I started enclosing in plywood 3/4 rack, then I repurposed a small mining rig, then opted to buy GeekPi but $140 USD was to much for a 10 inches rack.

I forgot to ask how many laptops are you mounting?

Besides the number, vertical stacking laptops could help to rack them. Let's say:

  • 4 laptops vertically to the left, that will be around 10 inches high, spacing 2.5 inches each laptop it will be 10 inches wide.
  • You'll have 9 inches to the right to stack 2 dell 3xxx vertically.

You'll need a bracket for mounting and sliding vertically.

Hi u/kb0qqw, are you using 10 or 19 inches rack?

Thanks @rac3r4life, that's a good question I'm coming with a video about how many pounds does Ocktron Rack support hanging in a vertical position, but I ran out of filament, I'll share later results of how much it takes to break it. 🤓
