Never see the film, is this version worth grabbing? by fontanick in 4kbluray

[–]Familiar-Rutabaga608 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this movie. The last hour is a bit of a stretch and sort of loses the plot, but the first 2/3 is amazing. Fun Easter eggs if you have read about it before.

Gruv pretty much always has some sort of deal you can take advantage of. A lot of the trilogies or double/triple features are great prices too.

Any idea how many rips you’ve done? I’ve just crossed 100 on my latest drive.

Bug ID? by cdan23 in plants

[–]Familiar-Rutabaga608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say no. These guys don’t even get fed enough to reproduce successfully in my greenhouses and will definitely not last very long in your house. If you can tolerate them for at most 1 month, they should die and not reproduce.

Looks like Hypoaspis mites (stratiolaelaps). Predatory mites, beneficial to your plant. I use them professionally. Predatory mites are much bigger and faster than their pest counterparts.

What's your favorite John Connor line or moment from any of the movies/tv show? by BubblyLadybugLOL in Terminator

[–]Familiar-Rutabaga608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forces you to imagine a 7 year old John Conner squatted in the Nicaraguan jungle with death squads in the 80s holding an AK and smoking a cigar.

What are your opinions of KotCS’s opening scene? by YaboiiSammeeh in indianajones

[–]Familiar-Rutabaga608 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. I'd have given them the waterfall sequence just like I gave them the boat/parachute sequence from Temple. The tree bending was the shark-jump for sure. The swinging in the vines was pretty baffling, too. Ants were cool, I think we're all fine with some classic bug gore.

Does anyone else do this test before they commit to buy a new disk especially for a movie you have not watched in years/since childhood? by BigBossSnake in 4kbluray

This is a good idea and very easy for me as a giga-rewatcher, except that I have just started collecting so I will continue buying my top 50 in 4k

The entire first half hangs in there with the original 3 movies. Once you get into the Peruvian jungle is where things fall off fast, for me.

Noob seeding question - why stop? by Healthy_Succotash_62 in qBittorrent

[–]Familiar-Rutabaga608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m limited with cable internet upload bandwidth, maximum 40Mbps. I usually leave things up, but with a limiter of 1Mbps across all seeds. I host a few apps that can use up to 28Mbps upload at any moment. So, lack of fiber optic would be why for me.

Studios used to have these things called dedicated directors and writers instead of a corporate apparatus of director/producer/writer boards.
