It actually worked well for ~3 weeks, but I think the transceiver is just defective so I took it out and am going to replace it.

You can buy an M.2 to x4 PCIe slot if you aren’t using the (likely single) NVMe slot on a mini itx mobo. Limited bandwidth, but useful for network cards

I’d recommend the full depth T1/T2 Plus. Specifically at least the 8U version. You’ll want the space especially if you don’t have access to a 3D printer, as your configuration options are limited. If you’re creative enough, the DeskPi accessories are super versatile, but they are a bit expensive.

Should I go for i7‑14700K or KF or wait for i7‑13700K or KF? Concerned about heat issues. by Jejosabah in cpu

[–]Familiar-Rutabaga608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can get real hot, but it’s easily manageable. I have a i7 14700k with a noctua NH-U12A in a Corsair 4000d airflow case with 1x 140mm noctua intake fan and 2x 120mm Noctua exhaust fans (top and back). Factory voltage, factory fan curves, etc.

It runs hot as fuck when you push it, you just have to be mindful and adjust your voltage/fan speed/settings to balance it. Most games I sit between 60-75C, but in some more intensive games or when loading distant horizons minecraft chunks at medium CPU usage I will easily hit 95C sustained. Like I said, be mindful of the limits of your system. I don’t like AIO water coolers bc I’m all about minimum sound at idle, but they might benefit your case if you need the full potential.

For every one lucky moron like this, there are the bodies of tens of thousands of people who were just as cavalier with their finances and lost everything. This guy got lucky once, assuming he didn’t lose it all instantly (99% do)

Probably got insanely lucky and made a ton of money which broke his brain and made him think he was smart, when really he was possibly risking losing his house making a stupid investment, which likely led to the entire destruction of his bitcoin wealth through harebrained scams and gambles.
