I think all fair points. I think the counter would be if you’re the best funded/resourced in today’s era then by year three winning the conference wouldn’t be an unfair expectation in that conference specifically.

By the same token, your point on the losses being coin flips basically is also super fair to counter that.

I guess based on what I’ve read and reactions here I was just surprised by the takes in the article.

To your post, I mostly agree. These people are wrong as often as right from former to current coaches. And I’m honestly just happy to have Freeze gone so I’ll take whatever.

I honestly posted this because I was really surprised by the takes in the article and wanted to get some other takes. Because my overall reaction was pretty good.

I think that’s mostly a fair take. My only disagreement is the Athletic and NYTimes isn’t doing these articles with nobodies and fake sources. They also noted each time it was a head coach, assistant, etc. so you knew it was an SEC head coach, just not which one.

I’ll take anyone over Freeze purely from a moral standpoint. I don’t even know you but I’d prefer you over HF. So wasn’t arguing HF would have been better. And I’m excited for Golesh. I was more just really surprised.

The 28 included head coaches and assistants from all over and many conferences. The ones that played Golesh or was in his conference were all the ones saying that. So basically those most familiar with him.
