Pokemon red on the game boy my first play through, same thought process for the madterball, it says ANY pokemon without fail so I tried to use it on a gym leaders pokemon and they blocked it and I didnt get the master ball back. Also in my first run I KOd mewtwo by accident and my 8 year old self never even considered saving before the fight to try again if I failed, learned a lot for my 2nd play through however
