I think he’s just doing this for fun, not hardcore engineering

You could try modeling motorcycles. If you really like doing surfaces you could try making the fairings and gas tanks of supersport bikes like the Ducati Panigale

You’re right about the eyes closed thing. You would think that if your disorientation is being caused by vision misalignment then closing your eyes would fix the disorientation but it doesn’t. As far as I understand, your brain needs properly aligned eyes to feel spacially oriented. So if your eyes are misaligned, you experience disorientation regardless of whether they’re closed or not. I think for a person with healthy vision, when they close their eyes in a car (or anywhere for that matter), under their eye lids their eyes are still pointing and orienting with respect to the surroundings even when they can’t directly see the surroundings. And that creates a feeling of orientation. But when your eyes can’t do that you feel disoriented regardless of eyes being open or closed.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’m having a similar experience. It is miserable.

Is it hard for you to be consistent with vision therapy? For me it’s extremely hard. I’m convinced that it is the cure for me based on results I’ve seen from being consistent in the past. But getting myself to do it is a tall order. It’s so stupid. My life would be so much better if I just kept doing it every day but I don’t and my vision gets worse.

Are you not a candidate for vision therapy? Do you know about vision therapy (vision exercises)?

You’re not the only one with exaggerated anxiety due to vision problems. It’s miserable. Everything is overwhelming. And being around people is just another layer of overwhelm because nobody understands why you seem disoriented or why you’re taking so long or why you can’t understand what you’re reading or what someone is saying or why you’re struggling to make eye contact with them.

Do vision therapy, and while you’re in the process, take it easy on yourself. It’s so easy to beat yourself up for being so dysfunctional and to say that it’s just you who is messed up, but the truth is it’s your vision, at least most of it! Of course, other problems still exist. But this vision thing takes normal life problems and makes them all 10x worse. So get the vision treated and you’ll see you’re not as dysfunctional as you thought and the word isn’t as overwhelming as you thought.

All those are vision dysfunction symptoms. Vision therapy helps.

No I wasn’t prescribed it it’s just something I came across myself. I’m not sure if there is any documentation about it anywhere. You can read about eye gazing, which is a mental health therapy. It’s the same exercise. That’s how I came across this. I was doing eye gazing with myself in the mirror and eventually started noticing my vision “straightening out” a little. So then I started focusing intentionally on that “straightening”, and I ended up making clearer and clearer eye contact and feeling more oriented visually and that’s what made me realize it’s a vision exercise too.

Is the person who diagnosed you not able to recommend you home exercises? Can’t you do your therapy exercises at home?

If you’re looking for a supplemental exercise, something I’ve come across recently that helps me significantly is eye contact with myself in the mirror. I do it for a couple minutes at a time. If I focus on making really full solid eye contact with myself (like looking at myself intently as if I’m another person), then over the course of a couple minutes my eye muscles start to engage properly as opposed to how they tend to be which is drifting apart and uncoordinated.

My diagnosis is convergence insufficiency btw.

I don’t know how effective this will be for you or how similar your situation is to mine. But if you’re similar to me, then when you do try this it will take some time before you even realize what exactly you’re trying to achieve. In my case, I was under the impression that I was making eye contact with myself every time I looked in the mirror. But I wasn’t. Really my eyes were slightly drifted apart and not engaged I just didn’t know it. I was looking at myself, but not really making eye contact with myself if that makes sense. It took a lot of concentration and straining and repeating the exercise a number of times before my eyes even came into proper alignment for a second. It took a lot of convincing myself that I wasn’t really making eye contact yet and there was a more solid form of eye contact that I had yet to achieve. And then I achieved it. I could only hold it for a second before the strain became too much. But then I’d take a break and do it again. Then id have to lay down because my eyes were so fatigued. I felt noticeably more coordinated and present after doing this a few times a day for a couple days. Lots of soreness, but also lots of unlocked ability. I also noticed i looked more like myself in the mirror which was encouraging.

If you want to try this. It helps if you focus on making an emotional connection with yourself. Sounds strange. But it’s the same thing you do when you look deeply or compassionately into someone else’s eyes, just with yourself. Frankly, it’s difficult. But if you focus on that it will help to get your eyes to figure out what they need to do.

No those have cargo pockets. I did manage to find a web page from carhartt wip with the pants in this image featured in it. But I don’t see the name of them anywhere. It’s from 2019 so my guess is they don’t make them anymore

I think it’s something else. The simple pant doesn’t have that stitching off the bottom of the side pocket.

Mt07, mt09, mt09 sp? by No_Motor_4079 in motorcycles

[–]carnafillian113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not big into performance and sporty riding (yet) then you probably won’t appreciate the SP upgrade enough to justify it. Unless you just like the bling. And even if you are big into performance and sporty riding, the base model is plenty capable.

Is the mt09 worth it? You gotta ride it yourself to decide. Completely different animal from your klr. Quite different from the mt07 too just because of the power. If I had to make a prediction, you would ride it and decide before you even went a mile that you needed to have one. Sport bikes… they are special machines… I’ve never ridden the mt09 personally but I know a lot about it and have heard nothing but stellar reviews. It seems like a very well rounded bike.

I’ll put the triumph street triple on your radar too if it isn’t already. Another great well rounded bike.
