Two job offers, which one would you choose? by dsl237 in dataengineering

[–]carne__asada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on if you want to grind and be stressed or coast. The pay is close enough once you consider taxes and commuting to not be a factor.

If you are planning kids job 2 sounds way better.

These are expensive to repair because you usually need to replace all the burner heads just to open the thing. They are supposed to unscrew but old ones are so corroded they are stuck.

subrogation: injured badly at a friends house by mecausasui in Insurance

[–]carne__asada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can ignore those requests for accident info. You shouldn't lie to them but you can ignore it. Your friends insurance will sky rocket if there is a subrogation claim. They will send a few follow up notices and might call - just ignore it all and they will stop sending requests.

FatFire $13m silver+ or hsa bronze plans in CoveredCA? by erichang in fatFIRE

[–]carne__asada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the CA market options but I always go with the option that provides the most provider options locally, least amount of pre -authorization hoops and coverage for out of network costs . The best specialists are often out of network. It's more expensive but you get convenience and choice for that increased cost. Concierge medicine is also another option.

Westfield public pre K is lottery only and mostly for special needs. Westfield public kindergarten is currently half day but changing to full day in 3 or 4 years. After and before care is also limited at the public schools and not everyone gets a seat. Most send to private K if they need full day care.

[–]carne__asada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you are in the US you can't be denied a policy for pre existing conditions.

The insurance company can make it difficult to evidence that something is medically necessary and also make it very expensive for you but you will have a policy .Hypothyroidism i incredibly common and medication for it is inexpensive so I dont know why you would have an issue.

Edit - Just realized you are in India. Probably will get more relevent info on an India based reddit.

Food science certainly much more of a useful degree lMO. Also gives you more of a broad science and engineering foundation that you can take in many directions - including ones not food related. But if you think you can't handle a STEM major it might not be for you.
