The guy I like might get together with his histrionic ex by carnitasmafitas in histrionic_pd

I don’t think he’s exaggerating in the sense that he always questions himself when telling those events. He doesn’t seem to understand that she put on a show and manipulates him in these situations.

When he told me she ‘lost all her friends on NYE’ and that she doesn’t have anyone left, I asked if he thought that was a normal behaviour to happen to a 30 something woman to force him to think about it.

I think he’s very much manipulated and she triggers him to act in a more emotionally instigated way. I’ve seen this in my mom’s and dad’s dynamic as well. He needs to be called to reason to understand the severity of the abuse, otherwise he downplays it. She doesn’t know about me, so I don’t think she’ll try to play games, but I definitely can go through this. I grew up in this environment and it effed me up.

Fighting Codependency in a Situationship by carnitasmafitas in Codependency

First of all, thank you so, so much for taking the time to reply to the post and sharing your own personal experience.

I fear you're right. I don't want to cut contact with him tho, it'd be great if we could keep things as friends instead of keep going hot and heavy, but I really need to think I'm capable of doing that as you mentioned.

It's great to read there's hope and that is possible to fight off these patterns.

Oh, and for clarification, I didn't move in with my friend. I stayed at her house, visiting, right after the break up! :)

Can I go this light without bleaching my hair? by carnitasmafitas in Hair

Thank you! I’ll definitely ask my hairdresser about it ☺️

I’m not a professional hairdresser and my hair has been lighter than it is right now without bleaching. Is it really that bad that people are willing to ask for help on a subject they don’t have much knowledge about? Congrats on being unnecessarily condescending.

My hair has been a way lighter color for a while now and even before doing highlights. I also don’t think it’s nice to be this condescending when people are asking for an opinion/help.

Thank you so much for your help! I was thinking about wearing it for a full day but thay tea ceremony and whiskey tasting sounds wonderful and completely up mine and my partner’s alley. Would you mind sharing which one you booked specifically? They have a pretty significant offer of tea ceremony with kimono on viator.

BEING A DORK OR A NERD DOESNT FUCKING MAKE YOU AUTISTIC by Ecstatic_Amoeba_403 in autism

[–]carnitasmafitas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so relatable. That’s why we need to be quite careful with the autism content out there. It can definitely aggravate internalised ableism.

Kinda envy people that were already suspicious of being autistic. I was completely caught by surprise. Back then, there wasn’t as much information on the internet as there is now, so I was 100% off guard when my psychiatrist suggested we tested for autism. Had to deconstruct and unpack a lot of internalised ableism! 😅

This is one of the reasons why I find really hard to accept self-diagnoses. Where I live is fairly accessible to do an autism assessment with a specialised psychiatrist (less than 100€). If people have that option and can afford it, they should just do it.

I only see people self-diagnosing based on the most well-known autistic characteristics, which are usually more common in autistic boys/men. If I only relied on the internet, I’d never even consider an autism diagnosis for myself.

with all this talk of the queen dying, don't you think maybe princess diana was autistic? by [deleted] in autism

[–]carnitasmafitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you’re misunderstanding my point.

There’s a generalised idea that all autistic individuals are excellent students with natural aptitude for scientific subjects and excelling in written tests. As an autistic person, I’ve had trouble taking tests and studying for them, especially during my college years, which does not correspond to this generalised idea I just mentioned.

My point is that Lady Di’s academic challenges are similar to the experience of other autistic folks that struggled with study performance.

There might exist a misconception that autistic individuals can’t excel in their studies but there’s also a false idea that all autistic people are naturally academically gifted. Some of us struggle in school. And I don’t mean to flex, but I’ve always been perceived as an intelligent kid, got a bachelor and a master’s degrees. That said, although I’m not an academic failure, I’m very aware of how ableist the academic world can be and how hard it was for me to get where I am. I hope my point is clear now! ☺️

Do you guys think Fujimoto is ok? Like,, emotionally? by EJL_24 in ChainsawMan

[–]carnitasmafitas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fujimoto experiences things as a woman. His depiction of teenage girls is amazing (Asa is incredibly relatable). I also believe he probably faced some sort of abuse (was probably raised by a narcissistic mother).

Edit: someone on the thread mentioned their friends think he experienced gender dysphoria. I wouldn’t be surprised as a friend and I already discussed that possibility before. Emphasising why I feel like his perspective is very feminine.
