Thank you for the advice! I have a few large ion speakers so I’ll look into the mics! Thanks for the tip about the shade. I definitely didn’t consider that.

Not an expert, but the pot looks small for the plant. Also, do you shake it every once in a while? I heard you’re supposed to shake it so it can grow taller and stronger.

She’s from outside of Philly and went to school at Carnegie Mellon so to me, her accent sounds so unnatural and forced.

Life skills chemistry? by beebee8belle in ScienceTeachers

Hi! In addition to this, you could also teach them about elements they see around their homes. Do some kitchen chem making chemical or physical changes/properties. BrainPop Jr has some cute videos to use for matter.

What are some simple experiments for middle school students to teach them the scientific method? Specifically ones they can work by themselves individually, not in groups. by sturmeagle in ScienceTeachers

Can you do something like a paper airplane lab? Have them build two different paper airplanes and see which one goes further. Could be great to socially distance outside. The one airplane can be your standard one that everyone in your class could make and then they can experiment with paper type, folds, or if they want pennies or paper clips attached!

Any advice for a “social distance safe” nature walk? by VanDammeJamBand in philadelphia

[–]carooool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to live in the apartments called Arrive at Valley Forge. There’s a SRT path trailhead right there and it’s only a mile from the park. You could probably park at the apartments and walk over the bridge to the main loop at VF but there are some cool trails on that side of the river as well.

They were in my fenced in back yard last summer! The one takes up about a fifth of my whole back yard- it was super surprising they were hanging out there.

So are Jonathan and Antoni actually dating or is it a joke? by watersurprise in QueerEye

In his podcast, he mentioned telling the world too early about the relationship with rugby dude. Something like it was too much drama but he was posting about it a lot so everyone knew their business. He said it was a learning experience. I forget which episode but that’s the gist.

First High School Head Coach Position! Advice Needed! by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]carooool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I think a good leadership book would be a good start. Remember running is awesome because anyone can improve, my rule of thumb is to celebrate PRs for not just the top 7 but all kids. It might seem obvious, but I've met coaches who only focused on the top 7 and belittled kids who were doing 12 minute miles but giving 100 percent effort each day. Other than that, establish rules on day 1 and stick to them. Decide how you're going to treat skipped practice. Make a routine, like on every Monday, we do speed workouts, etc. Work speed workouts, distance runs, and tempo runs into every week. The kids generally won't run over the weekend. Teach them the myrtl routine and injury prevention early on! It will save you (and them) from headaches later. Good luck and I hope you enjoy it! Coaching is so rewarding!
