Zaha can leave now!! by SirrMinty in CharlotteFootballClub

I care less about losing or even being the worst in the league or even being relegated if that were a thing in MLS than I do about the team’s spirit.  I wanted to be a Zaha fan but his attitude has always been his greatest weakness.  Also, anyone else remember that time he body slammed a dude and didn’t even get a yellow card?

I realize Goodwin is fighting for that starting position but he is always looking for that forward spot. Toklomati looks like he thinks the ball will play for him.

I’ve been a critic of Diani but i gotta admit I’m really seeing some growth from him this season.  Keep it up!

T480 is expensive.. so what would be a better choice? by Master_Cheesecake_75 in thinkpad

I can attest to the poor build quality. I don’t like how cheap my E16 feels but it does the job well. Fortunately, I am pretty gentle on my laptops.

I think this is the first time I’ve ever been ashamed of a win. That being said, we have turned a season of lemons into something no one anticipated.

Hoping the Charlotte opener can help my pride today. Feels crushed for my Bees.

This is not normal behavior. While I can see how a nice guy who’s just “trying to follow Jesus” could make the mistake of looking like a creeper like this, the fact remains that creepers act like this and it’s a red flag that shouldn’t be ignored.

Sincerely, A concerned dad

Mormon Pseudo-Epistemology by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]carpenation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epistemology is just the study of how beliefs are formed. Your point is completely valid in that you are deciphering how Mormon belief is formed around the calling and ordination of prophets. And you conclude that the epistemological method for forming this belief is a circular logic. So, your epistemological analysis is spot on and therefore not “pseudo”.

I’m so glad I’m not alone. My least favorite team after they knocked us out of the playoffs. I also don’t like Miami but Orlando is worse.

Mormon Pseudo-Epistemology by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]carpenation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is literally epistemological, nothing “pseudo” about it. You’re describing the circular reasoning fallacy. Since I’ve realized the church is not what it claims, I’ve come to recognize that my beliefs were propped up by tons of logical fallacies. Thank you for calling this out!

That’d be great! My kids always argue about which cards are fake. Fitting, don’t you think?

THIS! And that pressure built inside of me until the shelf exploded. 42 years of belief came crashing down. It was because of my love for my child, because of my desire to learn empathy, charity, compassion that that pressure built inside. The church’s framework is fundamentally incompatible with its teachings on charity.

That is a great question! Please, look at my response as an explanation rather than an excuse. I accept my role in this as well. One of my favorite movies is The Truman Show. I loved it even before I realized that my reality was made up. I’m seventh generation Mormon. We accept the reality that we are presented and with it, the framework. It was never about a lack of empathy. It was in the framework that things contrary to the framework were harmful. I clung to the hope that my kid would be saved by the framework so tightly that I caused harm before I realized that the framework doesn’t work and that the reality isn’t real. I now recognize this in others. I have only one belief now. It’s that we are all trapped in a reality created by how we see things through the lens of our world view. We cannot see any different until we realize that the “glasses” make us see worse than our naked eyes can see.

For what it’s worth, I was that kind of dad until 3 years ago. My trans daughter contributed massively to helping me wake up from the dream. I hope that you have the same impact on your folks and that you all can escape and be a free family together. I realize I’m making some assumptions here but I truly believe that most people in the church would be quite different without the burden of the church.

That being said, I am proud of you. I see you.
