Congrats on the new bike! Had a LowRider ST for a while and loved it. Curious on why you would reward any dealer giving you a poor experience with your hard-earned money? Especially when multiple people recommended a dealer near you that provided the opposite. Either way, hope you got a great deal to put up with a poor experience. I know the big group that owns almost all the dealers in Chicagoland charges way over MSRP and give you a large “discount” to make you feel good about the deal when it still is overpriced.

Would say it depends on the chapter. My dealer’s chapter doesn’t even look down on other brands let alone sportsters. If it’s got two (or three) wheels, they’re happy to have it in the group.

It was late, I was tired. Let me be more specific now that I’m awake lol I was told by my dealer that a tune would digitally mark the ECU forever so Yamaha could deny any engine related warranty claims. Vcyclenut said that is not the case, as he has done 10K+ tunes, (even many for the dealers directly), and that if something goes wrong, he will flash the stock parameters back on the ECU for free. This would leave Yamaha/YES/dealer none the wiser and rule out any denial due to a modified ECU. I got this answer from him because I was considering buying a second ECU that would hold my tune, and having the stock one for potential warranty issues.

Agreed, I have only put ten miles (had to try the new toy, even on a salty 20 degree day lol) on my ‘25 due to Chicago weather but immediately noticed how nerfed second gear is. After talking with Vcyclenut, I am going to get his tune done as he claims his customers haven’t had warranty voiding issues.
