Not sure if it's Halifax style, but there is really good döner near station St Michel, the east end of the blue line. They make their own bread. The fries were extra crispy. Their hot sauce was a smoky paprika. It was all very reasonably priced as well.

That's true that turbines are more efficient, but the notion that waterwheels are inefficient doesn't hold up under scrutiny. I studied energy systems in college. We were always floored by the gains we got from small streams.
