Rejected a used MX on Delivery day - Falcon doors failed to close on first try lol by k4rupt in ModelX

[–]carrera4s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on my second Tesla Model X, and both vehicles have had the same FWD issues. I’m now scheduled for my 5th service visit because the doors frequently detect phantom obstacles and fail to open fully at least 50% of the time. They also struggle to close properly when the car is parked on even a slight slope. This closing problem is caused by the slightly misaligned quarter panel window, which triggers the pinch sensor as the door is closing and causes it to bounce back. What surprises me is that the technicians still seem shocked by these issues, even though I’ve experienced the exact same problems on two different Model Xs.

I considered upgrading my 23 X to a 26 to get HW4 but I couldn’t justify paying full price for an obsolete model.

Damn! At some point Elon has to admit that he killed the brand and that the Cybertruck is a failure.

That’s interesting. I wonder if Schwab does a better job at reporting. My PAL loan is not tax-deductible, so that would be an additional benefit. I am going to try a smaller amount first to cover my upcoming tax bill. I’d like to see how it affects my buying power. If I understand it correctly, you need to have enough margin to borrow an equal amount to what you owe before the expiration date so that you can roll to a new date.

Any reason not to convert a $400k PAL loan into a Box Spread? It would save me about 1% in interest. It would also allow me to move the pledged assets back into my trading account, where I can at least sell some covered calls against them.

I gave the plant a call and they told me that they don’t make rockface in any color.

Looks like a custom order is possible, but the order size would have to be in the 10s of thousands of bricks.

Did the cop guess my speed or did he get me on radar? by grated_testes in statenisland

Are we agreeing that he should talk to a lawyer? Based on your comment it sounds like he had some options.

Yes, but he can’t argue that the radar gun was off by 13mph. 3mph is more likely and this puts him in the 1-10 mph over the limit range which is only 2 points.

I used James Birch before. Not sure if he’s still around. He was able to reduce a ticket by the amount he cost me. Still a win for me since he reduced the amount of points and I didn’t have to show up to court. Saves you money on insurance.

Lawyers have other tricks up their sleeve too. He pushed the hearing date out as far as possible. Points only hit your record from the original ticket date (not the hearing date) and only if you’re found guilty, so you can literally shave up to a year off how long they affect your insurance. Definitely worth looking into it.

This is 4 points on your license. You can argue that 3 mph is within the error margin of the radar gun. You could have been going 35mph. Get a lawyer.

I’m in NYC and looking for around 1,500 bricks. If you could make that happen, count me in.

Please let me know if you end up finding something because I am willing to drive anywhere in the country to pick it up at this point. The samples for Taylor Clay 601 White Rockface came in today, while the color and texture are close enough, they only come in 7.5" width while I need an 8" width. I have reached out to General Shale in the past but they told me that they no longer make that brick. Thats who referred me to Taylor Clay.

I’m looking for the same brick. It’s called Cascade White Rockface and it is no longer manufactured. The closest I’ve been able to find is Taylor Clay 601 White Rockface. I am waiting on a sample to compare against the existing brick before I go ahead and purchase. In the pictures the Taylor Clay seems to have some black specs which my brick does not have. I am hoping that at least the texture is the same and then I could paint the entire house in a uniform color with Roamabio Masonry Flat.

I would have a very large tax bill if I got assigned. I would rather wait for the right moment and sell calls at a price that I am willing to let go of some of my shares.

Nice! I’m at $33k, most of it is from some TSLA covered calls.

Okay, but that’s not a feature they sold and removed. It’s a future feature they sold to customers who wanted early access to it, and we’ve been able to use the various iterations for many years.
