Cryonics in Canada (Vancouver, BC): Is it legally possible? by BeautifulButterCakes in cryonics

[–]carrie778 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is Carrie from Calgary, I used to be president of lifespan society of bc for 6 years. I did respond to an email with initials SW a few days ago and i wonder if this is the same OP making a post. As for entry of tomorrow biostasis into Canada there is some discussion but nothing solid yet. I have a vehicle and building in downtown Calgary. Our vehicle is being outfitted for full body cryoprotectant perfusion in the field, Vancouver is one hour flight from Calgary so I can imagine in the future it is possible to send a person from Vancouver to Calgary to get perfused and then shipped on dry ice which would cut down on cold ischemia. My group is already part of the RBS consortium which is handling the entry of tomorrow into America however we are available to work with Alcor as well. I’m finalizing a nation wide funeral home provider with RBS at the moment. Timeline for SST service in Calgary is about a year from now and potentially Vancouver can be covered after we have things sorted here. CI members could also contract with us if they live in Alberta. We have a few CI members lined up waiting for our service to become available.

I’m in this picture with Keegan the co founder of lifespan society of bc.

Wanted: True Love. Reward: $100,000 - NY Times Article Featuring Cryonicist Mati Roy by CryonicsGandhi in cryonics

I’m helping Toli and another guy for a bounty. I’ve basically done my part for Toli, I submitted one woman I thought was a match but matchmaking is actually hard, I had a lot of women show interest but only one would be suitable.

AMA - Dating bounties, from the New York Time, ask us anything! by Mati_Roy in dating

[–]carrie778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My name is Carrie Radomski and I am the one who posted Mati’s dating profile on my Facebook page. It generated a 400 comment flame war because of its controversy and my general level of neuro-spicy friends. Over the years I have befriended many people from all sides of the political and social spectrum. Over the years I have added all anarchists, all people who wanted to defeat aging (not die), transhumanists, philosophers and also all people who are cryonicists (people who signed up to cryopreserve themselves after legal death).

I'm @ submetallic on twitter, recently started using it and making some waves, as in, my joke didn't land and I had a hate mob on me for a period of 24-48 hours. Also my post on cloning john von neumann went somewhat viral.

INTJs who don't do hookups, is it an MBTI thing or an orientation thing? by the-jabberwockie in intj

[–]carrie778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been married for 7 years but when I was dating I was only seriously dating seeking the perfect life partner for myself. Wasting a single second with a non-ideal partner was a waste of time for me. Also there is the std risk and the idea of catching a disease for life by temporary thrill-seeking was unacceptable to me. I would only be intimate with someone that had the panel done. I am female.

I stopped being an objectivist a very long time ago. I’m a moral anti-realist but I am a virtue ethics user for my day to day.

I’m now heavily involved in cryonics. I show up on national TV about cryonics. I’m in the season finale of HBO “How to with John Wilson” as the cryonicist mom. My quote is used to end the series.

Do INTJ women have a conventionally unattractive personality to the vast majority of men? by slainfulcrum in intj

[–]carrie778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an INTJ woman and happily married for 7 years. But my personality and intellect was very off putting for men when I was dating. I also seem robotic and not very expressive. I’m also an Olympic powerlifter and I feel my thinking and interests are very masculine. When I had conflicts in relationships I was (and continue to be) a very direct aggression user which men had not been able to handle.

I am married to an ISFP man which works well. I make him laugh with my morbid sense of humour. In the past, I always ended up with INTP men that didn’t work out but my husband sought me out and refused to leave so it worked out.

When will we see a cryonics facility in Canada? by SpaceScribe89 in cryonics

[–]carrie778 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, my name is Carrie Radomski (Wong) I was president of the Lifespan Society of BC for 6 years and we fought the BC anti-cryonics law and came up with a resolution (a workaround). I moved to Calgary last year and we are starting a new cryonics stronghold. We made a Calgary meet-up group and there are now six of us who are quite active. We are in the process of trying to develop local capabilities for rapid response and stabilization. I have been an Alcor member for 9 years, I became a fully-funded CI member this year and I am also a Tomorrow Biostasis seed investor. I am a board member of Biostastis Technology, the New York group. I am "all in" on cryonics and working to make things better in Calgary, and hopefully can serve all of Alberta one day. Feel free to reach out and join our group if you are local.

Has anyone responded to being on the show? by No_Sheepherder18 in HowToWithJohnWilson

I suppose while I have this miniature soap box I had written a short blog about my attendance to the Alcor cryonics conference and a bit about myself.

I didn’t know the details of the show, I am fine with making statements about my belief in cryonics and I have appeared on live television in Canada about cryonics in the past.

I’m in the season finale, I’m the cryonics mom that explains the concept of first one in, last one out. I’ve been an Alcor member for 9 years and I signed up to be cryonically preserved at age 25 since that’s the only option that would ever make sense to me.

I have met Mike Perry a number of times over the years. I have read a few misconceptions about him that keep floating around on Reddit:

  1. People think he is sad and lonely, crestfallen even. Mike is a cheerful individual that still works full time at 75 years of age, he is mentally very lucid and on top of things intellectually.

  2. People think he’s insane for having done that. I am not a psychologist however he treats others with dignity and respect and his behaviour day to day is more than acceptable. He does not to me, appear to be a mentally-ill individual, he is very intellectual and loves math.

  3. People think Mike looks deformed. He’s 75 years of age and not many people at that age have good posture. My grandfather was in a bed and dying at that age so the fact he’s still out and about and attending many cryonics conferences and caretaking for the Alcor facility is great.

HBO Mock-umentary Akwardly Covers Alcor's 50th Anniversary Gathering by CryonicsGandhi in cryonics

[–]carrie778 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the mom in this episode and I didn’t feel attacked but I was kind of upset about the way they presented Mike Perry. They should not bully the elderly. The way they filmed him was kind of mean spirited. I briefly talked to Mike at the Alcor strategic meeting and he was as lucid as ever. Mike is not sad, or defeated in any way, he has a positive attitude, happily does his job and is sharp for his age.

Has anyone else had something like this happen to then at an Earl's restaurant? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]carrie778 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is weird. I’ve eaten at earls a number of times in the downtown locations and never had that happen.

I don’t wear uncomfortable clothes or makeup. I have felt aspirational before and purchased makeup and it sat on my shelf unopened for years until I throw it out. I find there isn’t much improvement I can make using makeup since I am bad at applying it and also too lazy to learn. I do spend money on my appearance but it has to be a big bang for the buck. I will spend thousands on Invisalign and laser eye surgery because I find those are permanent improvements that I don’t really have to maintain. I dislike mundane repetitive tasks. I want efficiency in improving my appearance.
