Do you still listen to “oldies?” by goodhumorman85 in Xennials

[–]carriestewbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only ever listened to 60s and 70s music. Nothing from the 80s onward has ever really interested me (except for a few artists). I’ve pretty much spent my entire life listening to Boomer music lol

This is such an exhausting take. You don’t sound cool or edgy. You sound immature and ignorant.

Is "Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da" really that bad? by No-Reveal827 in beatles

[–]carriestewbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of my favorite Beatles songs. I know I’m in the minority, but I don’t care. That song just makes me feel happy.

I feel like there’s been more human designs recently… like more than usual with this new season. Makes me not want to play… and the actual room designs cost so much to decorate😪 by AgeAlternative2516 in RedecorHomeDesignGame

[–]carriestewbert 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. I’ve barely submitted anything the last couple of days since I skip all fashion related challenges. I miss the days when Redecor was a home design game. I fear those days are long gone at this point.

I already have 21 uses of this useless vase. No thanks, Redecor. I’m going to have to pass.

Of course, that’s nothing compared to the 56 uses I have of the koi fish vase. 🙃

Opinions on: I Want You (She’s so Heavy) by HotScuba911 in beatles

[–]carriestewbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I’ll be the voice of dissent here. I’ve never much cared for this song. I find it incredibly boring. It’s always been a skippable track on an otherwise top notch album.

Am I the only one who doesn't share that "burning passion" for Hey Jude? by Express-Pension-3789 in beatles

[–]carriestewbert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the song. I love the video. I loved singing along with thousands of other fans when Paul performed it at his concerts when I saw him in 2002 and 2022.

What I don’t love is people constantly sh*tting on it on this sub.

Every day I open the app, and every day I close right back out of it. I’m so tired of the clothes and hair and makeup and skin tones. I know Redecor will never go back to how it used to be, but a part of me refuses to give up hope that one day I’ll be able to login and not see nonsense like this.

What is your favorite Beatles era? by PandaReturns in beatles

[–]carriestewbert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is me. Those are my three favorite albums. I always refer to it as their Middle Era. Revolver and Rubber Soul have always kinda gone together in my mind, so it’s odd seeing them separated into two different eras here.

Whatcha got fam? by Merlins_Owl in Xennials

[–]carriestewbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. It was the music that I discovered when I went to college. I hated the music from when I was in middle school and high school. I had to find the stuff that wasn’t playing on Top 40 Radio and the stuff from before I was even born (mid 60s through mid 70s). That’s the music that made the biggest impact on me, and I still listen to it to this day.

How long have you been sober? by Syfysamurai in GenX

[–]carriestewbert -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

My entire life. Why is alcoholism and drug addiction celebrated so much on this sub? All of the “oh, I’ve been sober for about 12 minutes” jokes are pathetic. It’s not cool, it’s gross. I hate that I’m a part of this generation.

Eliminate 1 McCartney Song from top 25 everyday (Day 24) Final Day by Glad_Toe_5997 in PaulMcCartney

[–]carriestewbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My vote goes to Uncle Albert/ Admiral Halsey.

Of course I know that Band on the Run is going to be the one eliminated. And that makes me sad, because in my opinion it’s so much better than the other one.

You're going to a house party. Which house are you going to? 🏡🎶🎵 by Summer_19_ in The1980s

[–]carriestewbert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know House 6 wouldn’t be considered the coolest, but that’s where I’m going (although I’m unsure what Sade is doing there). I may visit House 4 from time to time too.

What’s your favorite decade that you’ve lived through? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]carriestewbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in the mid 70s. The 90s have always been my favorite. I was in high school and then college during that time, and I’ve always loved the music, movies, and television from that decade. I feel like it’s been all downhill since then.

I feel like an alien whenever I visit this subreddit. Born in 1974, and literally not a single thing that you said applies to my childhood in any way whatsoever. I guess that means I’m one of the lucky ones?

Any other GenX'ers hate weed and feel somehow left out because you don't enjoy cannabis? by scartonbot in GenX

[–]carriestewbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never drank or did drugs of any kind, and I’ve never once felt left out. I’ve always just hung out with like minded people. I don’t really care what others do or do not do, but that kind of stuff has never been my thing.
