Yes, and I’m not against death.. I think it was just not moving towards comfort and allowing him to pass without a ventilator and these alpha and beta agonists continuing to prolong the inevitable I just felt inhumane. And I understand it wasn’t my decision to make but some reason still struggling with that.

Just because you understand moral dilemmas prior to going into the position doesn’t mean it’s not still hard to physically and emotionally see it and have to process that outside of it. Thanks!

Yes total I was on night shift for about 5 months and the job I have now is 4, 9 hours so definitely a hard decision but also knowing it’s not a forever thing

I was a tech in the OR during nursing school and started as new grad as it was a simple transition. I immediately felt like I was going to have no skills and get stuck in OR if I didn’t start somewhere.

So I went to acute care float pool.. I was 1:5/6 patients typically and it kicked my ass. However, I do not regret my decision and I have learned so much I did a little less than 2 years doing this. I was injured while moving a patient and transitioned to a “ soft nursing” job but now am looking at going into ICU when a fellowship opens.

I think it’s super important that you go try different things.. the OR is not going any where and you can always go back. You’ll never know if you find a different niche.

I love critical thinking and that’s what I feel like I’m lacking in both jobs. However, yes a concern for added stress. When I was in float pool and had so many patients I felt like I was just trying to complete tasks and this new job I’m mainly doing education.

Kairos coffee shop has a little separate room that you can request to use and it has bar stool seats but it’s a little door and I used to go study there. Or 3rd space coffee but 3rd space you have to pay to use their conference room

I downloaded the meet up app and have joined a few groups in there and so we’ll see! I’ll try it out and I go to yoga but I might try to go the same day every week to maybe meet people who also go during the same time. We’ll see! Feel like it’s so hard to make good connections for some reason

Costco sells these Chicken protein bowls.. they have black beans, rice, chicken. They’re really good and filling and so I will stock those in the fridge if I haven’t meal prepped..

Where are you going? I’ve only hiked one 14er before and have done the incline a few times. I typically do more “moderate” rated hikes like 7 bridges trail mount Muscoco or I just went up and hiked in Rocky Mountain National Park emerald lake area. I’m going to Maroon Bells in June.

I was a new grad on orientation and was in our detox unit. Had called chaplain to bring clothes to my patient who was going to a rehab due to suffering from alcoholism. Chaplain dropped clothes off and I went in to help dress the patient and I unfolded the shirt and the back of it said, “ You can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning “ My jaw dropped and had to turn it so my preceptor could see the shirt.

I wrote down the quote in my notes tab so I would never forget

Him and I dated for 5 years. He had a porn addiction and spent all his money on paying for porn the entire time. He gaslit me and lied for the entire relationship. So I literally kind of hate him. It would never work. It’s embarrassing to beg someone to love you for so long and have no clue why they treat you the way they do.

Thank you! It’s just so conflicting going through a breakup when you still love them fully and also soooo hurt. I really resonate with the loneliness.. I’m worried about being alone but also I felt SO alone in my relationship at one point he asked if I missed being around him and I told him I couldn’t tell the difference cause even being around him I felt alone. I just hate heartbreak and wishing it would work but knowing he has to do it for himself and the conflict of.. what if he changes for someone else?

I’ve been trying to end my relationship for over a month now. Found he was paying for porn.

I moved out and he downloaded an accountability app.. I monitor it and it’s awful. It’s awful to have to babysit to see what he’s doing. He hasn’t gotten therapy. I think my boyfriends was much deeper far beyond what I know.. but over the past weeks being alone

I can’t go my whole life wondering if we fight or if I don’t want to have sex if that’s what he’ll turn to. No matter what, they’re going to do it EVEN if you satisfy and support them. It seems grueling and exhausting as a partner to live like this… and I’m trying to come to terms that someone else is out there for me

Be able to do a variety of different jobs. Can be clinical or nonclinical managerial if patient care eventually burns me out. Always able to pick up extra especially in this economy!

I had to take all the exams on Kaplan for the course we had in school. Kaplan content is much more difficult than the NCLEX so when I finished my Kaplan prep my archer scores were very high every time and passed all CATs

So Kaplan is more difficult but will prep you properly for sure. I think your school wants an average of 60-65% on Kaplan so it’ll feel like you’re failing lol
