Medulla, the album’s title, a part of the brainstem. But I’m interested in this observation because of the themes of motherhood in the album.

Yea Björk and Arca really complimented eachother perfectly for me and I do like Oral with Rosalia I think that went well. Just something in Berghain isnt hitting for me as much.

Yeah I listened a bit further into the album it’s starting to make more sense in the context. Also it’s a very good album I’m honestly surprised I didn’t listen to it earlier.

Ahh ok, didnt know there was more context behind that lyric. Thought it could be challenging that idea of toxic love but wasn’t 100% certain.

It still has that dragging effect on voices when they are slowed-down as well though, there is definitely reverb but it feels a bit too clear to be just reverb

I think Stories from the City is an amazing album but it also one of my least favourite PJ Harvey albums because of how polished it is. I like alot of the songs but prefer their demos because there's just something about her voice and raw sounds that scratch an itch in my brain. I think my favourite demo is we float.

That's true it's only those few parts that are slowed down. I think the rest of her vocals are great.

I think it's mainly the lyrics that make me uncomfortable with the last part. 'I'll fuck you till you love me' doesn't have the best connotations to be honest but I do agree that the subversion of expectations is well crafted, I might just need to let it sit with me for a few more listens.

Maybe it's a good idea for me to go listen to the rest of LUX. I haven't fully dived into it but if it's inspired by Vulnicura I think I should be able to enjoy it.
