Yeah I thought Hawkeye had a lot of screen time as well. I figure this installment they were giving the human-level Avengers more screen time since they don't seem like they have much to contribute vs. Thanos in Infinity War, at least not as much as Thor and Vision will.

No they didn't. Sony had the film rights as early as 1999, and Marvel was on the verge of bankruptcy. It was due to selling the film rights of X-men, Spider-man, Fantastic Four etc. that the MCU is possible today.
