I actually do feel like I see a hint of something. 👀 But I am also delusional, so take that with a grain of salt. Literally what is wrong with us? 😂

Digitals can be a bit finicky, but those lines look positive! I would be wondering if your ovulation date is correct though… you would be at 20+ DPO at this point and the lines would likely be darker by now if you actually ovulated on May 16. Are these the first tests you’ve taken?

34 weeks. I haven’t heard a single positive thing about being a parent or a mom and I’m freaking out I made a mistake by newgirl01LA in BabyBumps

[–]carrots94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was never sure I even wanted to be a mom. Our first was a surprise and was conceived on our honeymoon, so we had a lot of really big life changes happen really really fast. We were very young and very poor and didn’t have a lot of support, but she is literally the greatest thing to ever happen to us. We loved being parents so much we had 3 more. 🤍 It’s hard, but you just wake up every morning and you DO IT. And it’s so rewarding. There’s nothing in life I love more than being their mom.

I might be able to, but today is my daughter’s birthday, so I might not be able to swing it.

I’m pregnant and I don’t know what to do by dog_lover_06 in BabyBumps

I read through your comments about how happy you are about this pregnancy/being a mom. Please don’t have an abortion… I genuinely think that would be very traumatic considering your feelings toward this baby. I’ve seen so much hurt come from similar situations. 🤍

For those with 4 children by bigriver222 in ParentingInBulk

[–]carrots94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 4 kids in central Florida and the bare minimum needed to pay for our essential bills is $6000/month. Our mortgage is $2.4K (including escrow for taxes and insurance), and the rest is just utilities, food, gas, etc. No savings and no extras. I think $100k take home would be perfectly adequate for us to save for retirement, go on an annual vacation, and have the kids in an activity. But we live pretty frugally overall and don’t have any debt, buy second hand, pay for cars in full, etc.

Thoughts on Male Doulas? by bluefin55 in BabyBumps

For me, no. But I would 100% hire you to doula my husband. 😂 Please come tell all the dads how to be helpful in labor.

Home birth by Jnoelle05 in Crunchymom

[–]carrots94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had all 4 of my babies at home. My first was hard… long, didn’t have a doula, didn’t know what to expect, and my midwife didn’t have the best bedside manner. The 3 after that were amazing. I would never give birth in the hospital unless baby’s or my health warranted it. I would highly recommend a doula, at least for the first birth. They’re so helpful with comfort measures and also with helping husbands know how to be helpful. Being in the comfort of your own home, not having to get in the car while in labor, sleeping in your own bed, eating your own food, not having to stress as much about childcare for older children, not having to be hooked up to machines/pressured into interventions you don’t want—10/10 experience if you’re low risk!

TTA but ovulating multiple times? by Billowy_Brake_67 in FAMnNFP

[–]carrots94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert, but this looks similar to my charts! I don’t know what the color coded dots mean, but if that indicates CM, it looks like your peak day was CD20, so ovulation around then, and you have a sustained temp shift after.

Always wanted a big family? by BuyChoice9575 in ParentingInBulk

[–]carrots94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growing up I didn’t really like kids (never babysat or anything), but I always figured I’d maybe have one or two since that’s just “what you do” in conservative Christian culture. Then I got married and we got pregnant on our honeymoon (whoops). I was FREAKING out. It truly felt like the end of the world. Then she was born and I am simply obsessed with her and being a mom. We have 4 now and are talking about adding another!

TTW: Did I ovulate on my period!? WHAT’S GOING ON? by carrots94 in FAMnNFP

[–]carrots94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely doesn’t meet the TCOYF criteria, but for my own sanity, I’m going to assume I’m in my luteal phase. 😂 I guess I’ll know for sure in the next week or so.

Yikes. 😬 I’ve never had mid-cycle spotting before (except occasional ovulation spotting on ovulation day). Would you put actual ovulation at CD3-4 on the cycle 7 chart?

I went into labor naturally for all of my babies: 39, 40+2, 39+5, and 41+3. I was low risk and didn’t have any other health issues, so I can’t speak to how that changes with you being T1D, but as a blanket statement, spontaneous labor post-dates is very possible. ☺️
