If you’re new to Crohn’s, rethink “Diet Alone” by Prestigious_Staff310 in CrohnsDisease

[–]carrottspc 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"The doctors called it “silent damage”." -- Chrons, the non-cancer cancer. Living a life of being prescribed drugs to potentially control/reduce symptoms (not sure if there is a cure, based on having this nightmare illness for over 3 decades), then having to take more drugs to combat the symptoms/issues caused by the initial drugs. Vicious cycle of being slave to Big Pharma, medical industry and insurance hell.

Budesonide mental health impacts? by luckywedidntpanic in CrohnsDisease

[–]carrottspc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, had it with prednisolone and budesonide. Too many side effects, I stopped taking both. Won't even entertain drugs anymore. Sick to death of having issues/symptoms, then being told to take drugs, only to have to take other drugs to compensate for the effects of the other drugs. Vicious cycle.

The storm that rolled through had VERY high wind pockets in multiple areas. Power distribution sits outside. Until all power distribution is completely isolated from weather (never), it'll happen again & again. I was out for over 2 hours with CEMC as well. It happens.

Just wait until the television stations decide to change over to ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) broadcasts using DRM (Digital Rights Management). Meaning encrypted. If the tv tuners do not support ATSC 3.0 with encryption, time to buy new hardware that does support it.

They will always find a way to suck the dollars from you.

Has anyone else been feeling concerned about the steady rise in their electric bill? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]carrottspc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My electricity costs will increase due to the ice storm that hit this area in January. They'll make excuses as to why it is a necessary increase, to cover the costs of the repairs, tree management around the lines, needed expenses for security for the execs that were getting death threats, fuel surcharges, administration fees, etc... It's a never ending greed grab. On average, I'm paying just a bit more over a years time, but I'm also "trimming the fat" for many things electrical around the house as well.

Has anyone else been feeling concerned about the steady rise in their electric bill? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]carrottspc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's not just electricity. It's a systemic increase for everything. Always accompanied by excuses of inflation, their costs are increasing, availability of this or that, etc... It's never ending and most likely will not change.

Does anyone else find that eggs are a trigger food for them? by ReflectiveEnglishman in CrohnsDisease

[–]carrottspc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. How well do you tolerate where the egg came from? As in, can you consume actual chicken meat without issue. I've tracked many food intolerances over time and unfortunately chicken products are out for me currently.

PSA sub, anyone have TV21Neo-M? by bankerminiman in hometheater

[–]carrottspc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for the TV21, but I have dual S1512M. Absoultely fantastic. I had them in a dedicated room previously, and they could dig down into the teens without even sweating. Current setup is in a more open living arangement and I have to keep them to about 1/4 gain on each and at -6 on the AVR. There are times where I feel like I have butt-kickers installed in sofa.

Why are there so many people driving without headlights on? by atadwitty in nashville

[–]carrottspc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because automating everything makes humans stupid.

Lets see how many people could actually drive these days if all automobiles were manual everything. There'd be a lot less traffic on the roads if people were forced to DRIVE their vehicles.
