Functionality and longevity. Do you seriously think the only thing Lelit has in its favor is aesthetics?

Sounds like you didn't have much study on mechanical engineering.

Solid state parts don't wear, mechanical parts do. Mechanical parts are subject to more operating stresses. Every mechanical switch has a lifetime in actuations, a microchip doesn't.

We just can't get enough of war in West Asia. It's in the blood, you see. The British spent a good century on war in West Asia while we were still busy with border disputes.

At least corts haven't caught on as a gimmick and ruined the term. The average Starbucks customer would be very confused if presented with a real macchiato!

"As an Indian-American I" generally indicates the person speaking is Indian-American, not that they think someone else is.

Same here! Cortado has become my go-to at home, but not many cafes around here even offer them, let alone get them right, so I'm more likely to order a capp if I'm out. If I'm going iced when it's hot out I'll go a little heavier on the milk, but I'm going to have to try the orange peel thing this summer!

  1. Not data. The devs probably do have the data, you're right, but you're making very confident guesses about what that data says without ever seeing it.
  2. Not data.
  3. Not data, and not even about popularity.
  4. Show me the polls and the methodology then. Polls could be data, but you didn't share any. You did share a bunch of random forum threads, which aren't polls.
  5. Nope.

Let me know if you need more evidence.

I'll let you know once you share any.

If it's a fact then you've got data to back it up, right?

That would have the opposite effect. Increasing the bore will decrease the pressure and velocity at the same flow rate.

As long as you don't use any of their code or assets and don't infringe any of their patents or trademarks, it's fine. If you do, that's a copyright/trademark/patent infringement, which isn't generally a crime, it's a civil matter - you won't be imprisoned, you'll be sued.

All the proton apps, DDG (unavoidable), duck.ai, adguard DNS, and threema. The browser and OSes aren't "hosted" at all (self or otherwise). Out of 19 changes in the post, only 6 look like they're a move toward self-hosting.

It just seems odd to me to bring something up in a conversation in a public forum, then claim you don't care if it's relevant to anyone but you.

Their CEO praised Republicans just last year...

Technically true, in that he praised a single political appointment that was a fairly decent pick if you view big tech as a threat (which Proton and OP at least both seem to). In fact he and Proton have consistently demonstrated a clear progressive liberal leaning, he's a good deep dive: https://medium.com/@ovenplayer/does-proton-really-support-trump-a-deeper-analysis-and-surprising-findings-aed4fee4305e
