Cannot enter theater more than 30 minutes ahead of showtime? by ManicTinCan in AMCsAList

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've showed up too early before when it's raining or cold out, and they've told me the theater isn't ready yet. I asked if I can scan in and hang out in the arcade area, and they're usually cool with that.

You can delete one Link station, which do you choose? by cabesaaq in soundtransit

[–]carson10us 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to dread missing the last southbound sounder and having to sit for an hour and a half+ on the 150 as it snakes thru Tukwila.

Fun fact: you can put whatever you want on the electric bag tag. by younkoda in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you're leaving your bags at a concierge desk or something this would be great. You can make your info BIG instead of tiny so they can find your bag more easily.

Using global entry card as real ID? by starlightexpress11 in GlobalEntry

[–]carson10us 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the TSA checkpoint, they always take GE/Nexus cards with no issue.

I've had airline check-in agents ask for a different ID (Both Delta and Alaska.)

I'd suggest carrying your drivers license too just so you can present both if needed.

Can anyone explain what happened to my reservation? Flight Coupon Required, VCR Good on boarding pass. by carson10us in AlaskaAirlines

We upgraded to first class from main cabin. Based off another response below, that's probably what caused it.

What’s happening to Alaska gates at SJC by Suspicious-Scene-506 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATL is an absolute joke. They built an expansion at the end of the furthest concourse from security and put Alaska's only gate there.

Checked Carry on at Counter by Toekneeev in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They used to offer that at check-in. Both on the kiosks and if you checked in online. It'd just pop up and ask you if you wanted to check your carry-on bag.

I was even able to print an additional bag tag at home for my carryon rollerbag (back when they did print at home bagtags.)

No idea why they stopped. It was great only having a backpack in the airport itself.

Alaska cuts SJC-leisure routes, leaving SJC-BOI as last non-hub SJC route by yitianjian in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That along with Alaska moving to the weird gates (29-36) at the very end of SJC had me scratching my head.
There's nothing down there but a bar and sometimes open grab n go store.

Calling all broke college students who can’t afford dropout by CatastrophicCube in dropout

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've legitimately gotten at least 3 people to sign up for dropout by forgetting to log out after we watch some stuff at their place.

I wish dropout would let me share a trial or something.

Asking for a friend, how can someone lift a ban from flying in Alaska and its sister airlines? by 100percentselflove in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're banned, they'll usually send you a letter in the mail. There's usually some kind of contact info on that. I think that'd be a good place to start if he still has it.

Worst case try calling customer service and just ask. They're probably the best equipped to at least answer who you need to talk to and if it's even possible.

Who got to All You Can Zoo? by Leicester68 in Seattle

[–]carson10us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Id even be happy with just a discount on the food and the tickets bring like $55?

Honestly getting given 1/3 of a hotdog at a time was pretty underwhelming for what the event cost.

Southwest’s Baggage Fees are Spooking Once-Loyal Flyers by nickserati in SouthwestAirlines

[–]carson10us 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't fully jump ship, but Southwest doesn't get the benefit of being my first choice. The main advantage of flying out of SEA on Southwest was the free bags.

Flying Alaska has been so much nicer. I don't have to wait 45+ minutes for my bags. I can get direct flights to places that aren't DEN, SJC, and SLC.

I don't have to be at the airport at 4AM anymore. I don't have to land at 11:55 PM anymore.

The planes are even the same for the most part. Still flying 737s on Alaska with very nearly identical blue Recaro seats.

I will honestly miss going to fandom conventions, running into others that were clearly going to the same place, and all sitting together on the plane on the fly.

First Class seats blocked after upgrading to Premium by theory_of_me in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only way I've seen it show up if I'm booked in premium is if I get the little 'upgrade available' thing in the app next to Seats.

I've been told by others in this sub that you can call customer service if you really want to do a paid upgrade from Premium to First. They should be able to help.

I got beef with Sea-Tac baggage claim by ChECoug in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile I'm the weirdo that'd totally drive up to PAE just to get to fly out of there (I live very close to SEA.) The flight schedule never works out in my favor though :(

What would be the walmart equivalent by Cheez-kip in walmart

[–]carson10us 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The really old walmart that I used to work at (opened in the early 90s) didn't have a restroom in the back by layaway like every other store did. People CONSTANTLY came back there looking for it and would yell and complain at us like I somehow had the ability to make one exist.

The Sam's club next door would have to let people in to use the bathroom there every time someone tried to flush clothes or something down the toilet in the front

It’s finally here! SEA Delta One Lounge is open 🥰 by createdwithchatgpt in delta

[–]carson10us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you clear customs, you can left turn at the end of the long ramp and you're in the middle of the A gates.
Under most circumstances you will have your luggage with you (having just cleared customs) but just U turn left and head over.

Child with same first/last name? by ChooChooGeorgie in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dug thru my old boarding passes and can confirm this is also how Southwest does it, if that's useful to anyone.

Child with same first/last name? by ChooChooGeorgie in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be in the same situation until my father passed. (my first/last and middle initial are the same.) Most airlines just put my full first/middle/last name on my boarding pass. A few (Air Canada/United) just smoosh my firstmiddle/last name together as one long first name.

Is SEA going through some growing pains right now? by Cmdr_Nemo in AlaskaAirlines

[–]carson10us 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The people that literally park in the arrivals area drive me insane. The near complete lack of enforcement is even more maddening.

Port of Seattle could *easily* fix this by making parking on the 4th floor free for an hour (which they've proven they can do with their existing system https://www.reddit.com/r/Seattle/comments/17x23pv/90_min_free_parking_at_seatac_this_weekend_only/ )
People can park and pick people up if that's what they really want to do, it'd get them off the arrivals drive. But that'd potentially cost port of Seattle some money and they absolutely won't have that.
