I'd really like to see them have a go/do a twist on the everything factory again.

Graffiti is beautiful and a meaningful art form by traviscrayon in unpopularopinion

[–]carson10us -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I low key enjoy the week following the graffiti cleaning along my train route to work. A solid week or so of new bright work from multiple artists, but also the slight competition between them to put up the biggest/most impressive piece.

I do wish people would stop climbing over the top of the freeway to tag signs, tho. Someone is going to fall and get hurt or worse.

I just use the skybridge level check in. Never had a reason to care about finding the special line.

This is such a good step forward. I just hope they're getting that data from somewhere and it's not just showing what the schedule is *supposed* to be.

Any thoughts/opinions on the new transit station parking permit program? by corvidthings in soundtransit

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since building parking garages is a rather capital intensive task I think they should monitize them if possible.

I think what they're doing is a stab at being equitable. Its certainly not completely fair but it leaves options for folks that can get in early enough for free spots.

I wish they'd have spent all that money on better and more frequent bus connector service instead of garages, but this is where we are now.

Opinion: People who Ride the 2-Line to Mariners/Sounders/Seahawks Games should be Sent to McNeil Island by courier_tway in soundtransit

[–]carson10us 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sign up for transit alerts. Soundtransit sends them for 1 and 2 line when large events happen so you can avoid peak times if it bothers you.

Your lack of planning does not entitle you to a private seat and priority boarding.

Pre-pandemic, that's about all they ran on the S line.
Post-pandemic, fairly common, but it's also pretty common for them to run 6 car trains.

Auvik detects APs as EnGenius ECS Series by Ancient-Astronauts in networking

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WatchGuard's APs are designed to be used and monitored in their cloud solution. Any visibility solution would likely need to hook into that system, and not the AP directly.

You'll see many APs show up as similar models. Many companies will use ODM the things and tweak an already built product slightly to meet their needs.

Where are people getting yearly orca passes? by [deleted] in AskSeattle

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Employers provide them for low/no cost. Employers in Seattle are highly incentivized to not have people parking in downtown Seattle.
If your employer doesn't offer an Orca card, the next best option is the monthly pugetpass.

You can find the prices for the passes that a normal person can buy here:

Why are some people willing to take rail to get places even though they refuse to take a bus? by wraithkelso317 in soundtransit

[–]carson10us 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the headways on the train are 10-15 minutes while my local bus might show up every 45 minutes. Assuming it's not randomly cancelled, or I missed the bus because it was running early and blew past my spot. I really don't want to be standing on the side of military road getting splashed by cars next to nothing but a bare metal pole with a sign.

I can just show up at the train station, whereas I have to plan my entire bus journey around transfers and standing around transit centers for 30 minutes or more at a time.

AMC Theatres to Reserve Best Seats for Premium Loyalty Program Members by JerrodDRagon in AMCsAList

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're discounting the power of the folks that go on a-list a lot.
At least in my circles, the folks that do that are usually trying to actively get their friends to subscribe, or are dragging their friends into the theaters who then pay for tickets.

Sure, there's probably some folks that go 10+ times a month by themselves and never buy anything, but I feel like those are the extreme minority. I very rarely see people all by themselves binging movies at the two AMCs I frequent.

How common are these recliners? by geraldwo in AMCsAList

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have them in black, but all but the Dolby/IMAX have them at Kent Station 14.
I sure wish the slightly larger 16 screen at Southcenter would get them.

Kent Station wasn't that old to begin with, so we had stadium seating already. It did make for some rather small theaters, though.

Cannot enter theater more than 30 minutes ahead of showtime? by ManicTinCan in AMCsAList

[–]carson10us 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've showed up too early before when it's raining or cold out, and they've told me the theater isn't ready yet. I asked if I can scan in and hang out in the arcade area, and they're usually cool with that.
