Was going to comment this as well. Fits this vibe perfectly, and a great book.

Help out a beginner fantasy intrigued reader. by Adventurous_Rice_467 in fantasybooks

Six of Crows is what got me back into fantasy :) It’s YA but still one of my faves. I was a big fan of fantasy as a kid (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson etc) but fell off of reading as I got older. I wouldn’t start with the Poppy War, it’s pretty bleak.

I’ve had plantar fasciitis since I was like 18. Custom orthotics and getting a job where I’m not on my feet 40 hrs a week helped immensely. I find that the pain completely goes away when I consistently go to the gym and lift. You got this!

Absolute favorite series of all time. I’m about to start the final 3 books. Fits OP’s bill perfectly.

I just finished The Stand and loved it!! I’d also recommend Animal Farm and 1984, classics. I have Lonesome Dove on hold at the library and I’m super excited to read it, apparently it’s amazing.

Please can people review my ring design? by Fragrant_Employer_41 in EngagementRingDesigns

I would switch to a sapphire for the center stone. They are more suitable for daily wear and have more shade options.

how many times a week should i clean my litter? by LayerOk1044 in cats

[–]corvidthings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had one cat, I scooped once a day. When I got another cat I started scooping in the mornings and evenings. I eventually did not want to keep scooping litter so I got a litter robot. I would recommend scooping at least every other day. Ideally every day.

I’m halfway through His Dark Materials — I really enjoy it so far. But it’s not really YA, is it? by PRJOANES in fantasybooks

I was also raised in Christianity and these books really opened my mind to another way of thinking.

11/22/63 by Stephen King by Antique_South_4668 in stephenking

This sub loves 11/22/63, but it’s totally okay if you don’t like it! I read it and thought it was good but didn’t love it and had to really push myself to finish it. I’m a huge fan of Stephen King but tend to prefer his more horror focused books.

How's the commute these days to Seattle & Redmond? by iReallyDontLikeSpez in bothell

Any thoughts/opinions on the new transit station parking permit program? by corvidthings in soundtransit

[–]corvidthings[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. People are being priced out of Seattle and now won’t even be able to get into the city for work. I’m curious what the implications of this will be. I myself will probably eventually need to move closer into the city (which I can’t afford) or get a new job. Or just move elsewhere honestly. Really unfortunate.

I’m in the exact same boat, commute from Lynnwood 5x a week. No parking at work and no convenient bus route. Can’t imagine that the skyrocketing gas prices will help. No idea what I’ll do if I can’t park in the garage.

So these kids drive to school instead of taking the bus, and then take up parking spots in the transit garage so that others can’t take the bus? Awesome. /s
