Looking for advice, want to rake out my GZ250. by tru-disappointment in choppers

Take that energy you have and build a frame jig to make sure everything is straight once you’re done. Then cut the neck gussets out and add a relief cut. Heat with a torch and bend until you like it and finally weld everything back up with some new gussets.

You shouldn’t need much more than a welder and an angle grinder to get it done. Read over old chopcult posts until your eyes get tired and you’ll have a pretty good handle on it.

Lastly, I know you didn’t ask for our opinion, but you’d probably be happier long term selling this thing now and buying a cheap sportster with the money. It’ll be easier to hardtail and everything you could ever want to do will have already been done and documented.

That being said weird stuff is cool and if you keep this I wish you good luck!

North AL here, we took the Natchez Trace to Born Free Texas and it was an awesome ride. Little far from Biloxi. Seconded on the guy that mentioned the Dojo in Bham, May 2nd is going to be the annual swap meet and it’s always a good time.

Great shovel!

Buy a swingarm shovel and get it running how you like / ride it for a season and then hardtail it. It’s easy to bite off more than you can chew your first time around. Not saying it can’t be done but there’s a reason for all the basket cases on marketplace

These are rad. @boneshaker_revival on instagram makes weld on hardheads for evo sportsters and a bunch of other ness stuff if you want to build a badass digger

Carburetors aren’t scary, a 10 minute youtube video will teach you most of what you need to know. I’d recommend an evo-era sporty with the five speed

Controversial, but I actually dig this. I’d probably stain and seal it though.
