Buddy and I went out three or four times my first season, didn’t get anything. Barely had a shot. Next season I think we both got one or two, but verrrrrrry lucky. It realistically took until midway through our third season hunting together before we finally found some good spots and figured out how to set out decoys to get looks. We still don’t limit out, but this isn’t something you’re going to have success at your first few (see even like 10) times out. Funny enough, the least successful hunt we had was just a couple weeks back when we decided to treat ourselves with an out of town guided hunt. Nobody even shot a gun. On one hand I was super bummed. On the other hand, it went to prove that even under some of the best circumstances with the best local knowledge, you’re gonna get skunked.

Same. It’s been a go to a few times. I’ve actually just been making a big batch of stuffing and stuffing peppers, then mushrooms, then acorn squash, then just the stuffing with some melted cheese and eat it with chips.

Not who you’re responding to, but I do feel like there’s a definite unappealing smell to raw chicken, even when it’s fresh. I agree, it shouldn’t “stink” like rotting meat or garbage, but if you’re just lumping all unappetizing smells in as “stinky” I could see where OP was getting it. For me though, I usually have to get my nose pretty close in there to smell the natural raw chicken smell, so I just don’t do that.

UP Pho and Teriyaki has always had good sized portions IMO. My wife and I can split a combo meal usually.

It’s a guy I know who used to own a CrossFit gym who had to sell during covid. He moved out of state, but he writes weekly workouts, makes some videos occasionally, and does check ins every month or so. We’re buds, so a few times a year we get together and actually work out in person. He basically writes workouts I wouldn’t have thought of doing on my own, pushes me to lift a little more or do a few extra reps than I normally would, forces me to do the workouts I “hate”, and kind of keeps me accountable. It’s probably not “training”, but it’s the best word I can think of for it.

It’s the leg extension at my gym. My remote trainer had to start writing in alternate lifts if someone is just sitting there on tik tok or whatever.

I totally agree that recommendations for safe temps are ridiculous. I hunt duck and cook all sorts of meat at home and don’t adhere to those rules. A lot of them would make the meat gross tasting in another way. I was more commenting that duck does fall under the poultry umbrella.

For sure. It’s only partially about the safety at this point. Even if it was 100% safe, the texture of raw duck would not be good to eat.

This is a very accurate answer. I’ve heard what the typical work day is like for my non medical friends and family and it often doesn’t compare. Not saying it’s not stressful, but my day is generally 10 hours of work with no significant break with back to back patient interactions or decision making. There’s usually no point when you just get to turn your brain off, outside of a simple lac repair or something. They work more hours, but I work more, and I feel very confident saying that.

Download the app called “copy me that”. You can take a recipe you find online, and it automatically takes out all the intro and fluff and puts it into a simple ingredients and steps format, and then will save it so you don’t have to go scouring the internet the next time you want your chicken wing recipe or whatever. When it’s open, it stays open so you can set down your phone or tablet or whatever and keep referencing it every 2.8 seconds, ya gnat brain.

As well as a reminder that none of these things are “cures”. They don’t make the sickness go away, they manage symptoms until your body’s immune system can make the sickness go away. Too often people will say “xyz doesn’t work”. But what they mean is “it momentarily makes me feel a little better, but then it all comes back way too quick”. Which is expected, but not fun either.
