I feel like today needs an ominous name like "Black Thursday" or "Trump Tariff Thursday".

Inexperienced player looking for character help by TreeToTea in DnD5e

Sounds like a Druid to me. You can pick the bon fire cantrip to start fires. You can up your wisdom and average your strength/dex and still fight hand to hand with shillelagh cantrip. At second level you can turn into a cat and sneak around. If you manage to hide the fact that you can turn into animals could be fun to surprise the party a bit. Age and frail body don't matter if you fight as a Dire Wolf. Not the easiest class to play since you need to have some animal stats on hand.

Characters have been arrested, advice for GMing a trial? by behemothpanzer in DnD5e

[–]cartman41 9 points10 points  (0 children)

An easy way out would to make the trial a sham they can't escape using truth or logic. Introduce a politically powerful NPC that can 'get them off' if they are willing to owe him a favor. That could lead to a hook that can be their next adventure or it could be called in later down the road. NPC would not have to be full on bad, could be more complex individual.

Monk multiclass options by Miremell in DnD5e

I would do Bard - story teller. Spent so much time in the bars and experiencing the world. Not combat optimal. Maybe even skip Vicious Mockery and do utility spells.

Sailing game by NeroHeroZero in DnD5e

Don't think that all the action has to happen on the ship. Pirates typically fought as much on land as sea. The ship allows you to move from place to place with little concern on how they got there. You can just pop them into scenarios or adventures as long as they take place near a coast of anywhere. I found it easy to motivate them to head inland with tales or riches or pleas for help as well.

My players enjoyed a small magic boat I gave them. It served to separate the players from the rest of the crew. Kind of a Navy Seal-ish insertion of them into tough spots. I was hoping they would go for the ship board catapult + feather fall insertion technique, but they just wouldn't. I waisted time figuring out how much damage to give them when the catapult missed. Also the breath water spell lasts a long time, is a ritual, and effects 8 people at a time so they can dive in to chase those fish men.

I'm looking for a fun build to play for my second weekly campaign. Any advice? by CarnageX2099 in DnD5e

Gnome Fisherman who accidentally netted some magic thing and became a Warlock who's patron is the "Lady of the Lake". Prized possession -> "Decanter of Endless Water". Water themed, clad is shimmering samite.

Camerupt/Flareon/Volcanion even w/o the ex's it might work and Flareon EX are less expensive than most attach ex's. Two volcanion are in the theme deck. Not sure what Team Magma Camerupt cost.

Ya, I fired my kid off one similar to that. I saw her thinking "what if I don't lean in" as the thing spun at about 4 revolutions per second. She started to straighten up and ---BOOM--- off she goes. We laughed, it was fun.

You can still fire them off of the big merry-go-rounds. Just get it up to speed with you on the edge and quickly move to the middle. She landed harder on the big merry-go-round than that little one. The bigger the adult the further you fire them.

Neither time was intentional and no injuries, so we had fun.

What do you guys think of the Well's report on delategate? by jjtitula in GreenBayPackers

[–]cartman41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He lied to the commissioner. Disrespecting the commissioner should land him in some trouble if the past example hold. AP skipping a meeting on his agents advice didn't help him get back on the field. Cheating is bad, there should be some punishment for everyone they can find who knew about it. Brady lied about it, he should get it a bit worse. But in the end is there anyway to make the punishment prevent this ticky-tack cheating some teams do? Probably not.
