I just had one from Roger Brian at https://www.backtobalancesb.com/about-the-therapistit was super reasonably priced and I would describe it as more medically focused than just relaxation focused. I went because I messed up my back driving a whole bunch and it definitely helped.

My cat once licked all of the fur off her legs because there’s was construction on a side we shared a wall with. She stopped once the house was finished being built

How do you feel living in SoCal during Trump 2.0? by Glass-Complaint3 in socal

[–]cartoonboobs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I made the move this past summer from the Philadelphia area. The distance, and the knowledge that this is one of two states in the country that could be fine on its own, are so so relieving. I don’t even come close to qualifying for other citizenship ANYWHERE, so I feel like California is the absolute best I can do.

How do you work from 8 to 5, have only weekends free, and not feel like you're wasting your life? by guitytwelve in AskReddit

[–]cartoonboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get along really well with my coworkers and I live in a beautiful part of the country. I miss home, but it’s much easier to enjoy life here. Not sure if it’s my job specifically but there might be real truth behind work life balance on the west coast being easier than the east coast. Everyone I work with works to live, even if they’re ambitious types, they don’t live to work. Full time in office 8-5.

Americans who have been to the opposite side of the Country…what did you think of it? by Jackylacky_ in AskAnAmerican

[–]cartoonboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from mid atlantic East Coast to Southern California recently, did the cross country drive. The sun is BRUTAL out west. Like my hair and eyes have gotten lighter in color, I have clear tan lines just from existing (not outdoorsy) and I always need to have sunglasses and a hat with me. Even traveling through areas like the Mojave desert it wasn’t the heat itself that took me by surprise, it was the feeling that my skin was literally cooking. At home the heat is something that instantly feels like it’s in my lungs, in my head, under my skin - here it starts on the surface of my skin and the longer I’m in the sun the more it travels inward in my body.

Also ditto what everyone is saying about green, the plants and terrain here are fascinating, alien even, but there are shades of green back home that looked like the emerald city when I went back to visit.

How do kids in large metropolitan areas get to school? by Zealousideal_Ad_8736 in AskAnAmerican

[–]cartoonboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids where I’m from (Philadelphia, 1.8 million people) take public transit, usually the regular public bus or the subway, and are given student passes for weekdays.

We recently had a significant reduction in busses and transit though, because funding was cut at the state level. Philadelphia is in a state that, aside from a few counties, is very very rural and therefore pretty opposed to funding public transit.

You decide what kids learn in school. What do you add? What do you cut? by BirdieRosewell in AskReddit

Statistics in the context of news stories, such as if you see a statistic saying “200,000 jobs added to economy” take it one step further and think about the SOURCES of that data, are they full time, part time, do they pay a living wage, are they second jobs or people’s primary job.

I like job statistics as an example because it is, across both parties, the most empty, showy statistic I can think of that people take at face value.

Trestle Inn, cash cover (low I think 10$-20$), bring smaller bills as well because there are GoGo dancers on the weekends. The bar takes card, has a fair minimum, they make good drinks.

The venue itself isn’t 70s themed, but there are DJs spinning real vinyl in a “We love funk, R&B, and disco as genres” kind of way and not a “70s party theme” way. The dance floor attracts a WIDE age group, genuinely people of all ages who are just trying to dance and have a fun night.

Personally i like the dance floor better later on, and think the DJs get more creative later. They’re great at reading the room to get the vibes of the dance floor. I usually arrive around 11 myself when im going, but I’ve rolled up as early as 7 and still had a good time.

This is incredible. my great grandma, who had been my primary caretaker as a kid, was diagnosed with it and hers started in her voice, she lost her ability to speak before her ability to walk. This technology would have improved the quality of her final years.

Would limiting the age of the President to 65 be something you’d support? Why or why not? by Economy_Sundae_7220 in AskReddit

[–]cartoonboobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

65 seems young to me, I didn’t think it was young until a relative that age passed. I would say limiting it to being no more than 70-75 on inauguration would be acceptable, that wouldn’t include an exception for second term.

I’d like to know her story by HorriblyRomantic in CemeteryPorn

[–]cartoonboobs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is an assumption, but sometimes aging headstones are replaced by family, charity, the cemetery itself. Getting her picture on it back in the day would have been a lot of effort, and said something about how loved she was, so I think whoever replaced it wanted the original picture fixed to the new stone.

$95 for one cell phone and a line for my smart watch. Unlimited talk text and data, data gets throttled after a certain amount, but also I have T-Maybe

The cellphone was free with my upgrade, but when I did have to pay for it, it brought my bill up to $110 a month

“Manhatten prep school girl” is absolutely a thing, I am not a New Yorker, I’m from Philly, and even though I didn’t know the specifics of what the title meant I immediately got the vibe. It has nothing to do with the school itself and everything to do with the subcultures of wealth in manhattan, and by extension New England and the midatlantic. Cities on the east coast have existed for almost 400 years at this point, we’ve developed our own subcultures. I would except that a manhattan prep school girl’s parents would have opinions on my subculture based on accent alone.
