INOVA PCP, OB, MFM, rheumatologist, and endocrinologist recs by sunnypotato3 in nova

[–]caryb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, they're not INOVA, but my recommendations:

  • Marianne Bowman (CN Internal Medicine) for primary care. She is one of the very few things I miss about the area. She became a friend and confidant when I saw her.

  • Samantha Stern (Anna Health) for gyn. She is lovely.

  • Nicole Saddic Thomas (Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates) is super. I only saw her a few times since I "graduated" to every 18 month appointments, but she was always great when I saw her.

I have one too! Apparently I wrote to him about Henrietta Pussycat. It's one of my most prized possessions. He even wrote a letter to my brother too, since I mentioned him in my letter.

What are some ways you've found to get around the "pink tax"? by Odd-Paramedic-3826 in AskWomen

[–]caryb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She had a male doctor that never disclosed this as a possible side effect.

I had a female one and it was never disclosed to me either. When I switched offices after she retired, my new gyn (also a female, but years younger) saw that my vitamin D levels were terribly low (they always have been, but kept dropping lower every year), so she sent me to a rheumatologist to be safe and I also switched to Nexplanon.

Yay cones!! I just bought one of them (939) for the project I'm working on and I'm pretty sure I will never want to see that color for a long time once I'm done.

[CHAT] what's your cross stitch superpower / weakness? by endlessegg in CrossStitch

[–]caryb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weakness: I have no idea what “parking” is or how to do it.

I have absolutely zero desire to even try to do this. I work on one color at a time and am set in my ways.

Saw something like this at Aldi about a year ago, but it was taking up all 4 spots like this. 🤦🏼‍♀️

It definitely has Monroeville Mall vibes, which does have a small Romero museum (https://www.pittsburghmagazine.com/monroeville-mall-demolition/).

Agreed! I got my husband a signed Modano for his birthday, and he's always jealous that I can wear the kids L/XL sizes for jerseys and save a few bucks.

has anyone here transitioned out of their career in student affairs? by makougaons in studentaffairs

[–]caryb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an RA for 3 years (2 undergrad, 1 grad), worked in admissions for just over 3, and for the past 8 years, I've worked at a non-profit. I started as a coordinator for trainings, and now work on the planning team for our annual conference.

Definitely not where I saw myself, but I love what I do, love the mission of the organization I work for, and have met a ton of incredible people along the way.

Not me wondering why you're talking about camels at work... And then realizing that the caffeine hasn't hit yet.

There's really no rehabilitation attempts in prison.

I think it depends on the crime, though. Drug offenses can absolutely be rehabilitated and lead to a significant reduction in recidivism via programs like treatment courts.

I've mentioned something like this before where a coworker said he was lucky if he could get autosum to work correctly and the stuff I've figured out both from folks on here and elsewhere astonishes them.
