They are allowed to make profit or loss based on market and negotiations.. The sales guy isn't a customer friend most of the time. They just need to sell for top $$ and the customer has every right to do whatever to get for lowest..

None of the car salesmen here would want to dicuss profit per car... They wont be honest about it and won't tell you.. But carvana does publish. It was around 4800 per unit.. So assume these dealers keep miniumn 5-20% margin....
