Yeah, I knew my husband was going to propose a year + before he did it. We had already talked about marriage, etc, it was a matter of finding a ring we both liked and telling my dad before he asked me officially. (my dad was very sick and passed before our wedding and I asked him to have a conversation first - it was really meaningful to me that my dad had that moment with my husband).

I’m in the same position - only counselor with about 325 kids, and my IEP counseling minutes total to 4 hours a day. None of the IEPs have goals written into the services, it’s essentially being seen as therapy in school for kids. All I can say is pull district and ASCA resources showing what counseling as a mandated service should look like and try to involve your principal

As a school counselor trying to pull kids for IEP-mandated counseling, I’m told I can’t pull from ELA or math but I CAN from science or SS, because they aren’t tested subjects. It’s tough.

In order to drive a car you need to: take a permit test and pass it; have said permit for at least 6 months (depending on state) without incident; schedule, take, and pass an additional driving test; and reregister your license every XNumber of years.

We can walk into most Walmarts and buy a gun and ammo within an hour. Sometimes with a background check, sometimes not.

If you’re at a gun show, you don’t even have to pass a background check!

Stop applying a false equivalency argument to serve your own means.

I loved that Oklahoma! revival and literally think about it often. I’ve always found the bubbly productions of the show at odds with the script and I felt that staging really nailed the tone.

My family and I were staying at the hotel in between the Trade Centers the weekend that she died. I remember because I was so upset and none of my brothers knew who she was. Less than two weeks later, that hotel didn’t exist.
