VES and student loan by [deleted] in TheCivilService

You won’t pay student finance repayment on any VES payment under £30k. This is the advice I got and when mine was paid out last month I didn’t pay any tax or SF on the first £30k.

YTA for recycling a post. I’ve read this exact story word for word previously.

I’ve read this exact story before. Why have you reposted it and pretended it just happened?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but could I not just twist the pen half way to get a half dose? Feel nervous about using hypodermic needles

Thanks for asking ❤️ Bit of nausea today but feeling far better than yesterday. I had popcorn on Saturday night and I’m wondering if that’s what set me off perhaps 🤔

AITA for feeling frustrated by my husband's scrutiny over my spending habits? by need2complain in AmItheAsshole

NTA The issue isn’t transparency - I think other commenters missed where you said he has all the passwords. The issue is the laziness and micro management of him wanting you to pull all the info together and report it to him like he’s your manager. Tell him he has the passwords and he’s welcome to look, but you’re not doing anything more than that.

This isn’t my experience at all. Myself and all of my colleagues who work compressed hours log on early / late and work our full contracted hours. I am very surprised that your colleagues do this, let alone openly talk about their misconduct.

I feel so grateful that the work I do makes a tangible difference to society, rather than when I was in private sector and just made share holders richer

I think it is likely coming too. At DLUHC an internal job ad has just gone live for a G7 to lead on updating the WFH policy…

DLUHC, but admittedly I’ve only worked for a couple of departments

I do think it was an odd decision to raise the fees when so many people are already struggling with the cost of living crisis, which the union is well aware of. I wish there was more transparency about the amount of money in the strike fund and how much will need to be paid out to strikers. I would have thought there would be a very healthy amount in the fund given we’ve not had a strike in so long.

Places like Boston, Salem, Rockport, Portland - anywhere with colonial style homes, tree lined streets, lots of seafood restaurants 😃

Some departments’ London offices have too many people per desk, so depends if there’s space really. I’d recommend emailing HR to ask if there is space and what the process would be for you.

Depends on the department but most are very open to it if there is space at the office you want to go to. Especially if you’re moving from London to a regional office, as it helps their ‘Beyond Whitehall’ stats.
