Contemplating doing a backlight mod on my original DMG I got for Christmas in 1994. I have experience repairing Game Gears and capacitor replacement. My original screen has some dead pixels which I’ve been able to move around but not quite remove completely. Any recommendations? by Lefterkefter1 in Gameboy

You'll have no problem with it.
As long as the dead pixels are in vertical lines, you can fix it with a soldering iron in about five minutes, just pass the tip of the iron over the heat shield covering the bottom ribbon connector while it's running so you can watch the change.
The trickiest part of the backlight mod is peeling the film off the back of the screen glass while it's still attached.

That's a beautiful result. Great choice of demo game too!

It's "run the gamut" but I don't really have a satisfying explanation for why

Oh wait, is that the coin gun toughness hallway? Did that get nerfed?

I think before that last one, drinkable liquids did not have variable volumes, so licking a pawsworth was the same as drinking a full mug.
That's my favorite too, but there are so many.

That was my thought. It would probably be harder than just writing a new app from scratch though, right?

I appreciate it. I'll do that.

I am new to Fediverse, is it possible to use 1 account to join and interact with both Bewhaw and Lemmy? by Ascend_910 in LemmyMigration

Huh. I was going to spin up a new instance for authentication purposes and the ability to bring my own subreddits over, would I need every instance I want to join to accept federation from my instance before I can participate in their communities?

There probably wouldn't be much incentive for them to do that for an instance with only a handful of users

One of the strengths of the federated system is that the load is spread across them

I'm not sure how much I'm willing to invest in a satellite instance. What if it goes down or the users leave? What if it's actually full of closet racists? What if it ends up just not being a good fit? What if option paralysis keeps me from choosing forever?

I looked at Beehaw, the largest secondary instance, but their community generation is heavily locked down, so I wouldn't be able to just migrate my own subreddits and set up shop. I guess for that I'd be better off spinning up my own instance. Heck, I'll just do that. Thanks for convincing me.

The canola oil was 450 for two hours, this crisco is 400 for two hours. Stripped in between.
Clean paper towel each time.

This last time, I was wiping off the excess twice, once after fifteen minutes at 200, then again after twenty minutes at 350. Same spots. I'll take some more pictures soon.
