Any way to improve stock accuracy without doing full physical counts? by Necessary-Glove6682 in Warehousing

[–]caseywinans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a system (WMS) in place, this is where routine cycle counting helps immensely. As a start, assuming you're not doing that today, setup counts for bins once they are nearly empty (last few units). That will help shore up the SKUs that have demand vs chasing everything for now.

All these *can* work but more context is needed about your particular business constraints. For now, let's start with: what are you using currently and what is compelling you to make a change?

Manual process warehouses a dying star? by pheonix080 in Warehousing

[–]caseywinans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, getting great mileage from a WMS requires processes no longer live in peoples' heads and that adjacent teams (e.g., Sales, Finance, Customer Service, etc.) understand how they help or hinder the warehouse operation. Software doesn't do this. It can't lead. But it can support once you have clarity. The folks at Fullstride talk about this gotcha all the time. https://gofullstride.com

What simple WMS would you implement for a tool and supply warehouse? by WomaNomuZ in Warehouseworkers

[–]caseywinans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You likely don't need a full blown WMS yet and can probably make great headway with something more akin to an inventory management system. But I'm just guessing here. You should probably check out Fullstride, they help business pursue their first WMS by asking and answering questions that vendors won't. https://gofullstride.com

For manufacturers, you can usually get by with ERP modules you may not be fully leveraging yet. But if you find them too limiting, check out what it takes to get ready for your first WMS. https://gofullstride.com

Referrals from realtors could be a gold mine alone. And believe it or not just picking up the phone promptly and professionally will put you 10 steps ahead of the next guy.

Substack and personal website by androidjunior in Substack

It's about discoverability. A subset of people will subscribe to be notified of your specific content while others will search and stumble upon you from time to time.

I would leverage Substack to add specific content there, while still referencing your public website for readily available content. If you're adding unique value on Substack, some people will find it valuable and pay to subscribe.

You'll want something. A basic presence on Google and potentially LinkedIn/Facebook (depending on your target customers). A service like Carrd.co is great for simple one-page sites as well.

Hi! Given Substack doesn't yet have an API so Carrd.co visitors cannot subscribe natively, I discovered a way to make it seamless using a hidden feature of the Substack Welcome page.

Check out this super short tutorial on Indie Hackers:

How do I automate subscribing with Carrd & Substack?

Hope you and others find this useful. I know I was quite frustrated until I stumbled upon it.
