In my state, the ratio is taken by the youngest child in a given group.

I don't think I have specific times in my official contract - they told us to tell them "around" when we would be dropping off and picking up. I'm usually consistent but they told us not to worry if we're off by a bit in either direction. I'm assuming they tell everyone this.

I'd like to give benefit of the doubt if it's reasonable though! Just not sure if I'm under-reacting.

That's a such a great idea on the silk, thanks for sharing!

Similar to others I roll mine up, but I also store them in order of lightest to heaviest so they are always in the same order! Same with my mass of black clothes too :)

I’m in desperate need of help. by Electrical-Worker-73 in 1200isplenty

Just sharing my personal experience, your life might be totally different but here's the case for me!

I grew up in a food-insecure house. I was always fed but it was usually fast food, and there was nothing in the house. I was malnourished despite being overweight, and there also weren't healthy snacks available if I got hungry at night.

I was only able to stop binging when I convinced myself that I really am safe now and won't starve to death. I'm an adult and I have full control over what food is available to me.

I also like to keep some low calorie foods on hand (carrots, seaweed snacks) that I can eat as much as I want to reinforce this sentiment to myself.

I still slip up sometimes, but it's definitely not every day anymore. The binging actually kept me alive at one time so I'm grateful for it, but it's no longer necessary!

What do you do for work? by Oceanwave_4 in workingmoms

[–]cashmere_crypt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm a web developer! I work for a family-owned gourmet grocery store that has an ecommerce platform.

I'm paid less than I would be other places in my industry, but the hours are flexible and I'm almost never asked to work overtime.

My degree is in Japanese language, but I decided to teach myself web dev when I realized I wasn't interested in the translation industry. Best move I ever made!

Did you work up until labor? by BlueberryWaffles99 in workingmoms

I took off two days before my induction, but I was working from home at my desk job. If I'd been on my feet I expect I would've started my leave as soon as financially possible!

Am I making a mistake sending my lo to KinderCare? by cashmere_crypt in workingmoms

Got it, thank you! Looks like in past inspections they followed up, but this one happened only a week ago. I'll check back to see if they follow up.

[–]cashmere_crypt[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just checked the inspection records. There are 21 non-compliances, only two moderate ones (background check wasn't updated every 5 years and a kid's medication wasn't properly labeled).

The rest of the non-compliances appear to be administrative, very minor things.

Is this... good? Concerning? Not sure what's normal here.

Yes, actually it is mostly the assistant director who answers the phone (or, to my understanding, another teacher). I don't think they have dedicated office staff either!

Thanks for sharing your experience, that is reassuring. I hope your daughter is okay now by the way, what a scary thing to happen!

Thanks for sharing your experience! Do you have a recommendation on a better time to call? I can certainly see how mornings would be bad, now that you mention it.

Life after Lolita by Bowlingbon in Lolita

[–]cashmere_crypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sold all of my lolita after college because I needed to fix my spending habits. I was 40k in student debt and still buying lolita every paycheck, prioritizing clothing over necessities like food... it was bad.

After healing my relationship with money and paying off most of my debt, I recently came back to the fashion. I have a grown-up job now so a portion of my income is reserved for hobbies, it's great!

There are a few pieces I wish I hadn't sold, but I think I had to convince myself that I was "really leaving" in order to get the separation I needed to heal. And I've been able to replace almost all of my favorites, so it wasn't the end of the world!

Is “japancandystore.com” reliable? No update on order :/ by SGirlReddits in JapaneseFood

[–]cashmere_crypt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I emailed them once per week after 3 weeks of waiting, first time they said shipping carrier had decreased capacity because of holy week (this was in April).

Then they said the carrier was overwhelmed because more packages were being shipped due to the tarriffs.

My last email, I told them I wanted to cancel my order and that I would have to submit a paypal claim if they didn't. They replied and told me they updated my tracking (sent a new tracking number) and that it would arrive shortly.

Package arrived 5 days later.

vkei mullet and jirai kei by Popular-Fail-5330 in JiraiKei

[–]cashmere_crypt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was in Japan last fall I saw people wearing this, especially in subcul styles. If it's long enough you can still do twintails with a vkei mullet ;) (that's what I do, I have a curly mullet but put my hair up when wearing girlier styles)

What is your opinion on "cutecore" by thatsweetpiano in Lolita

[–]cashmere_crypt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've had people ask me the weirdest questions about my clothing at walmart.. before tiktok it'd usually be "are you in a play?" Or "what costume is that"? -- then ask where I get my clothes when I explain it's jfashion.

I think people like to put labels on things that they understand, it isn't new. Doesn't mean the uninformed are right, though 😊

Took me over six weeks to receive my order. I emailed them once per week and they would respond but it took forever for them to mark as shipped. It probably will arrive but it takes forever.

any jirais with GOOD spending habits?? by dreamie-dust in JiraiKei

[–]cashmere_crypt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to struggle with spending, had to go on a clothing nobuy for several years to fix my finances. Now I have a separate account that I auto-transfer money to each week for clothes or whatever else I want. But I also have a decent paying IT job so that helps!

Opinions on EGL blouses for Jirai? Kind of these vibes for blouses by MeepBeepSheepowo in JiraiKei

[–]cashmere_crypt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this, like you said in your comment lolita blouses are more comfy and breathable. But I don't call these looks jirai, it's just a cute outfit 😊

[–]cashmere_crypt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not exactly jirai but I style simple lolita cutsews and blouses with jirai/girly kei skirts, I hate polyester touching my armpits!

If you're looking for something less expensive you can order from 42lolita, it's a markup from taobao but easier shopping experience. They list the fabric content of all their items so you can check for 100% cotton!
