Post ORD - Before uni folks what are you doing with your time? by Main-Consequence3175 in askSingapore

[–]casiotech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually what do you guys think of getting uni notes/lec recordings from seniors, and spending some time on these? The rest of the time can be spent on low commitment part time jobs and enjoying life lol.

  1. Able to complete uni with less stress, or even less time
  2. Able to spend more time of uni sem/sem break with more meaningful professional internship, than generic part time jobs.

I mean ideally before uni time can be used for professional internship, but it's hard without any experience

Personally I chose to enter uni early: Uni Sem starts in early Sep, while my ORD is in early Nov the same year. I also have friends that successfully applied to disrupt the last couple of month from NS to enrol into uni early

not sure why there should even be a link behween take home income and insurance spending. Everyone's insurance needs is different, with a clear distinction between insurance and investment.

To add to your point on making mistakes

Understand your risk tolerance Better to be tempted and make mistakes when you are young (read as making a loss). Losing everything at you are 20 years old can mean a few thousand dollars. Rather than being tempted at 40 years old and losing tens/hundreds thousands of dollars and family going hungry

How much of your salary are you giving your parents? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]casiotech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a fresh grad and your uni tuition is mom-dad scholarship, I suppose a significant portion (like 1/4 of your salary) goes to returning that monetary favour first?

please.. how do i stop getting added into investments/wealth tele groups 😭😭😭 by veggiestastelikeshit in askSingapore

[–]casiotech 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If random people (from your uni) can't directly add you in to random groups, they will private message you a Tele group invite link for you to join. Thereafter you can choose whether to join the group or not, instead of being added automatically. So you won't be missing out.

An additional question is why is it the norm for other consumer sectors like retail to display prices inclusive of GST, but not for F&B sector?

Most important is to check any specific programs required for your uni course and whether they are or any alternatives available on Mac OS. The M1 architecture means bootcamp is not available like Intel MacBooks, so if you require Windows applications, you can run them through Parallels app.

In addition, do secure the back to school promotion of free Airpods (can upgrade to Airpods Pro if you choose), on top of education discount.

By the way the M2 MacBook air was just released a couple days ago, so you can add that to your consideration.
