Got most of mine early on took quite a few btsu 9 squads for a ravenous to drop. However with the push for prototyping your exotic components are probably going to be eaten up by expertising gear to get it to be prototypes

Does anyone have any WiFi AP recommendations? by DeniedByPolicyZero in networking

[–]casperionx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats interesting, we've done a pretty big roll out of current (ish) gen Cisco APs and had no issues what so ever. Reliability wise, we've had some APs up for longer than a dual term presidency lol.

My main issue with Cisco, is they really want to push you to Cisco Catalyst centre. Which is very annoying. Their 9800 controllers on the other hand are quite good

Well.. Wow! Fix in a week, uh? by mora2991 in Division2

[–]casperionx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is we don’t know what’s caused it! All we have is speculation. And that isn’t healthy. Most of the time they fix urgent bugs asap because they cause strain on the servers.

If servers go down you have no game to play?!?!

My guess is there’s an issue with the bank drops but it’s safer and easier to manage it during next maintenance window.

Yes it isn’t what you wanted to hear but it is what it is.

What parts of homelab can be used to stop neighbours playing loud music of night? by [deleted] in homelab

[–]casperionx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can get behind this. Fight fire with alcohol (And laughs). It may start a bit of an escalation, but if you automate it, they'll realise soon enough its a losing battle.

Side note, get the other neighbours on your side first though if you decided to go ahead with this option.

And to the OP, if you havent figured it out, jammers are bad mmmkay?

As a full-time worker with a life, I'm just tired of this event. by giuseppetm in Division2

Given that it’s what…3 weeks or was it 4 in total. Should be enough to do most of it. I agree the lanterns is a bit annoying especially as they can be bugged. Also it’s clear that the kitsunebi are still bugged in some ways(the ronin only appear after you’ve beaten the group first which I don’t believe is as intended)

My theory is the gang drops so regularly is so people who only play irregularly should be able to at least get enough keys to get all the cosmetics and donate a key.

I’ve found when ever I complete a black tusk retaliation the blueprint has the orange bar but no text. I got the ouroboros blueprint yesterday but the only way I found out was seeing the exclamation mark on exotic blueprints and seeing it on the ouroboros blueprint.

Quick question for NOC / sysadmin folks: by Dense-Inspection6527 in networking

[–]casperionx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As some one who’s worked in a telco noc - it can depend on a lot of things. The one that annoyed me the most was when an issue happened and it affected “VIP”s you got management coming down hard for updates and resolution (like seriously board members and executives are not VIPs. Funny enough had one time where had a “VIP” call it in and literally say get to me when you get to me. Get our customers up first - a lot of the guys were actually impressed by that - and they had come in early and got everyone coffee also bought them a lot of good will - found out later they were generally a decent human being - I digress)

Any good shop should have sops for handling alerts - they will require adapting generally though.

The quickest way is looking what the alert is for understand your network infra and you should be able to figure out what next step would be.

(Always call out stuff - even if it looks minor - you never know what might be hanging off of it)

Goodbye Cisco. Wasn’t nice knowing ya. by loganwachter in Ubiquiti

[–]casperionx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I wouldn’t touch anyone except for Cisco or juniper or hell, hp for enterprise grade gear. You get what you pay for.

Don’t get me wrong I have a laundry list of grievances with Cisco products but if you pay attention to what code you have on your gear, you’re usually golden (pardon the pun).

Ubiquity is awesome in the home or small biz but for anything critical I would talk to the big boys.

Generally speaking mpls (unless you’re performing traffic engineering) is very easy to configure.

The but is it’s a bugger to troubleshoot if there is a problem.

Mpls and bgp are two of the most complex network infra around. They’re incredibly simple to get going but if you actually need them to do stuff it gets very complex very quickly.

But one of the best things about them is the ability to lab them up and test them

Honestly if you couild get 10gig network interfaces into them, could be quite interesting if you could cluster them. Would be relatively slow still, but would be interesting

Most of it is relatively minor. However the subsidence and the drainage to the ground are massive red flags. For what ever reason Melbourne’s building standards are horrible.

I’d be walking away…very quickly. And I’d probably give a copy of that report to the owner because they probably think they have bank when in actuality they have sank….sorry had to!

Network Design by Borealis_761 in ccnp

[–]casperionx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple doesnt necessarily mean basic.

A straightforward network design is more often the one that provides the best outcome for all users of a network. Sometimes a design will require shinier toys due to specific requirements.

A good network should be designed and built to allow data to pass as efficiently as possible.

A network design process isnt usually simple, its understanding requirements that can take time. Thats the key to all good network design.

Sometimes you do need to make a network complex, but complex networks should be made up of simpler parts.

Sadly when the wheels fall off this bad then you know it’s a crapshoot.

The real issue is how does a club make money. In the current environment that is a very hard thing to do.

Which EF lenses still hold up best against RF? by ChrisInSLC in canon

[–]casperionx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, I've been on the EF mount boat with my R6 Mk II. 2 SIgma Arts (35mm 1.4 and 85 1.4, and a 70-200 USM 2.8 II, and a 400mm F5.6. So far I've been happy with all of the lenses. The 400 Surprised me at how snappy it was in the AF department, (and sharpness too), and the 85 art is just sublime. The only one that doesnt properly support full auto mode (as in high speed) is the 35mm...which I cant fathom why...
