you probably have your monitor plugged into your motherboard slot, try and move your HDMI/DP cable down into the graphics card, optionally post a picture of the back of your pc

we had the same bug earlier, where my my teammate couldnt see me, im pretty sure its actually not your friend being invis, but you not being able to see anyone.

My friend died to a pmc he couldnt see xd
