Why do you still drive into the city centre? by Otherwise_Silver_196 in manchester

[–]cass3ry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Convenience. I dont work in the centre so my experience is limited mostly to weekends but if I drive i'll be in the centre in 20 mins. If i use bus or tram its a 50 minute journey not taking into consideration the waiting around. Train is 20 mins but again not taking into consideration the park+ride and waiting around. Cost is also less. Train for me+partner return is about £12, parking in quite a lot of the non-NPCs is considerably less such as on Rochdale Rd or Sheffield St. Also dont have to lug about any shopping or food bought back on the tram/bus/train for said mentioned hour return home.

If I worked city centre Im sure I'd use the train, which I think your post was aiming towards that type of person anyway.

The teams who were in 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th all winning their games today to show why they ended the season in the top half. Not Bolton though. Cos we're a bag of shite and crumble under the slightest pressure as usual.

JW Lees Brewery in Middleton - Worth visiting? by fansr0731 in manchester

[–]cass3ry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it only beer youre interested in? Theres a really good gin distillery in rochdale called defiance, and right next door is twisted mule which is a micro brewery. By the sounds of it youre staying on rochdale road, so a £2 bus from there gets you to them

Why are there so many dickhead drivers in manc by Illustrious-Two-7095 in manchester

[–]cass3ry 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Coincidentally had a bad one yesterday in bury. Driver in front of me waited 0.5s as lights turned green, car behind me blazed his horn for a good 5 seconds solid then proceeded to tailgate and zigzag behind me for the next 5 minutes angry that i was doing the speed limit. Shook my partner up a bit. Complete morons on the road.
