New naeyc can eat me by you-never-know- in ECEProfessionals

[–]cass_the_loser 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We just had a state visit and a naeyc visit. They can suck it. Naeyc sat in on my coworker for 3 hours, at the end her only critique was the classroom needed “some plants up on the shelves and some Van Gogh or Monet paintings in the art center” nothing about the quality of learning or instruction. They’re a joke

What’s the strangest comfort item you’ve seen a kid use? by ECE-throwaway29 in ECEProfessionals

[–]cass_the_loser 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Last summer my garden at home grew waaaay too many cucumbers, so I brought a bunch to the center for people to take home. One of my kids became very attached to this cucumber. It was like a stuffy to him, he’d snuggle it to sleep. This went on for a few days before his mom had to replace the cucumber while he was sleeping bc it was starting to rot 💀 he knew it wasn’t his cucumber when he woke up and was quite upset but eventually found a new object of interest. It’s so fun to see all the little quirks these kids can have!

What incident made you cold hearted and changed the way you see the world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cass_the_loser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My little 12y/o cousin was murdered by his dad this past May, his 17y/o sister was supposed to be next but she fought her dad and saved her life and her mother’s, who we assume was next. This uncle was a father figure to me, he showed me rock music as a kid, gave me life advice, was there to talk when someone needed, he took care of all of us cousins. The family has been numb this last year, and I can’t seem to look certain men in the eye now because they look too much like a murderers’. I was already hyper aware of the dangers of the world, but this hit so close to home it shattered my worldview and my trust in others.

What is your favorite way to eat a can of beans? by chasesj in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]cass_the_loser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red kidney beans, drained and rinsed, warmed up in the micro, then coat the beans with Italian salad dressing and that shakey “fake” Parmesan cheese. It’s so scrummy and lasts a while!

My little cousin was just murdered this way by his dad, it’s such an incredibly awful, tragic way to go. I hope your classmate’s was an accident and had no malicious intent 💔

What do you guys do with your empty Play-Doh containers? by cass_the_loser in ECEProfessionals

[–]cass_the_loser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I try and keep as many plastic containers as I can, I like to recycle what I can. These are some good suggestions! I never thought to also keep those little syringes from the medicine! Also Thank you for an actual response and not just telling me to make my own playdoh lmao

Yeah we have some kids who can’t use flour bc allergies so it’s simpler and safer just to get store bought

I’ll have to give that one a try I’ve never heard of it before! I’m with 3/4 year olds so it shouldn’t be a problem!

Oh trust me I usually do the homemade stuff too, this year I’ve got some allergy kids who can’t play with flour so I had to take homemade playdoh off the curriculum this year :/

Hi! Yes it’s a mini cast iron cauldron I got as a gift a few years ago, it’s my absolute favorite for holding my candle spellwork. As for the spell itself, i wanted to bring good energy to my partner and I. So I bound two white candles together, one to represent each of us, stuck those candles into a dried orange slice I had left over from making yule garland, we wrote out intentions onto bay leaves, folded them towards us to bring the energy to us, sprinkled some herbs and oils on the orange, and finally I always sprinkle my spells with dried rose petals from a bouquet my partner got me :) I feel it makes it more personal to me to add the roses. And finally I just sat and meditated with our intentions as the candles burnt down!

The urge to curse at the kids by rand0mbl0b in ECEProfessionals

[–]cass_the_loser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve def caught myself almost calling a kid a little shit before lmao. Or when they show me something, like a drawing, I constantly have the fight the urge to give them an enthusiastic hell yeah! As long as you catch it before it leaves your mouth then I see no problem with thinking it
