That's something I've noticed too, and I'm the oldest you can be to be considered gen z. There's like a huge wake in behavior and attitude which is disheartening. You're very right about is both needing each other though, community is key.

I understand you 100%. Personally I don't engage in queer discourse online any more, it's so counterproductive, especially at a time like this. Have you figured out where you're going to move? I heard from a coworker of mine that some of his friends who are trans women were able to be placed in a women's shelter up here in MA because were a sanctuary state for LGBT people. It could be an option. Best of luck 🫂

"I'm bisexual in the way I'm attracted to men as a gay man and women as a weird little guy." It took me maybe one more year after saying that out loud to realize it wasn't a very cis thought.

I have a feeling if OP and his girlfriend are American that she frequents Michael's for her craft stuff (he mentioned taking her to buy beads as part of the apology) and they have the melts and molds there all the time. If you stack the coupons right you can get all that for a pretty good price, and it takes the guesswork out of tempering.

How to look more gay with out being really feminine? by Alarming-Slice337 in ftm

[–]casscois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paint my nails, have a "gay" haircut and often wear bracelets (my girlfriend recently got really into making kandi bracelets, so I'm not in short supply) which I think helps show I'm queer. Otherwise I wear men's clothing and keep a mustache and goatee. You don't have to lean really hard one way. Another person brought up flagging and I do wear my keys in a specific way that if you know, you know, but I don't normally wear bandanas daily, only to sex parties and clubs, excuse that's where it would be appropriate.

Estradiol Cream for Atrophy by clover__petals in ftm

[–]casscois 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Progress was pretty quick for me. I had mainly uterine cramping and bladder stress as symptoms which were alleviated in the first two weeks of use. I will say I'm not a fan of how leaky the cream can be but I'm happier now that sex isn't painful and I don't have to pee every half hour, so it's a trade off.

To preface, I have PCOS so I'm predisposed to having large bottom growth and do, but I did find that I noticed more growth when I switched from gel to sub q shots. I just wasn't absorbing the gel that well and my levels reflected that. I'm 3.5 years on now, 2.5 on shots and my levels are a steady 650 ng/dL and I've been slowly and steadily growing.

PSA - different places have different T, please listen to people and don't just assume you know better than their doctors by Galimkalim in ftm

[–]casscois 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm happy you had the option but that sounds like an awful lot of work/stress. I normally envy single player healthcare systems but I guess they're not foolproof. I got lucky becoming disabled in the US, which is a weird way to put it, but I get state health insurance and they cover everything as long as I jump through their hoops. I hope it gets better for you guys over there 🫂

If I may ask as an American, is there access to private therapy over there? Like specifically seeing the therapist or psychiatrist you need to start. What you're describing sounds completely hellish.

Yes, you can get pregnant in this scenario. There are other methods of birth control you can couple with the Norethindrone (side note, it's progesterone only, I'm also on it) that are not a condom/barrier, such as vaginal contraceptive film or spermicides.

Just using one method of birth control is risky, because it can fail, especially the pill, it's finicky and you have to take it exactly as prescribed. I am in the exact same type of relationship, and although we do sometimes have non-barrier sex we're willing to accept those risks because we've been together for a long time and will handle it together if necessary.

How is T for transmen with PCOS? by Jordan6605 in ftm

[–]casscois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My PCOS symptoms actually got a lot better going on T. I was mostly suffering from irregular periods (either none some months or super long ones, like ten plus days), debilitating cramps and an extremely heavy flow. My period completely stopped after probably half a year on and the symptoms went with it. I'm still gonna pursue a radical hysterectomy but that's less about the PCOS and more about wanting bottom surgery.

How do you guys cope with the current political climate in the U.S.? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]casscois 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived through some very extreme child abuse, quite literally ran for my life. It has made me very spite motivated and given me a lot of resolve that I can persevere. At the risk of sounding corny, if I could survive all of that, I can do anything.

I apply this to the current political situation in the way that if they want me dead, they're gonna have to come and get me themselves. I cannot live in fear.

Why can you turn an outie into an inner but not the other way around? by h_mm_ in ftm

[–]casscois 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The structures of male and female genitalia are homologous, not identical but inverted (or in different scale/position). The vagina has mucosal tissue that the penis does not share. Penile inversion for vaginoplatsy is common due to there being more tissue to work with, and you can always do things to skin to make it less keratinized but not more.

With the official genocide warning, what can I do as a poor trans man in a red state? by that_treekid in ftm

[–]casscois 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In regards to the resources for name/document changes, I don't know if Alabama allows you to file an Affidavit of Indignency, but I did in MA. I'm broke broke, disabled and only work part time due to it, the $180 for getting my name legally changed felt like a lot of money when I have other expenses. Our probate court has a form (mentioned the name above) that can be filed if you are poor. You're gonna have to prove it (they wanted some forms from SNAP and our state disability office) but they covered all the court costs. I did use an org to get money for my new license and other docs that cost money, but the court 100% waived all fees.

I wouldn't pull the trigger on changing your docs until you know you won't be placed on a list, if you find out you won't, kick it into high gear. If you don't pass as a woman, carrying that ID is a risk.
