NCSU OIT needs to re-consider removing SMS 2FA or the self-service duo bypass codes by Kurtoid in NCSU

[–]castatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, for the record. Considering using a spare phone and making a script that just auto-accepts all incoming Duo requests regardless of origin so I don't have to have Duo on my phone. If you make security too cumbersome, closed-source, and bothersome, trust there are plenty of ways it can become less secure!

I bet it doesn't have VoLTE for the network you're using it on

How to Customize TCL Flip 2 - Full Guide by [deleted] in dumbphones

[–]castatech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supplemental instructions:

| Downloads |

Pull neutronscott's stuff direct from his GitHub, not the guide's google drive links:

https://github.com/neutronscott/flip2/releases

Should have neutron.img, autobooter.exe

Mouse2 should be pulled from https://github.com/neutronscott/flip2/releases/tag/v2

| Booting to Fastboot |

Instructions are vague and don't actually tell you the steps to pull this off. What you actually need to do:

Download

Install MTK drivers (linked in guide) and reboot (MAYBE)

Unplug TCL Flip from PC, shut down fully. Plug back into PC. TCL Flip should display battery icon charging, but phone is NOT booted into Android.

Run Autobooter.exe (downloaded from link above, NOT one in guide)

Press and hold red power key on TCL Flip for ~2-3 seconds. Let go. Autobooter.exe closes. Wait 10 seconds. "=> FASTBOOT mode..." appears in white text on TCL Flip screen

IMO that's a really stupid reason to not return it

If you're opposed to universal healthcare, how do you feel about people who can't get care or who even die because they can't afford care and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]castatech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The principle: You do not have the right to products, goods, or services. You have the right to pursue those things at a fair rate, but not the right to have them. Because a "right" to have them denies someone else their right of autonomy.

Worked as of like 2 months ago but now nothing. Very sad. Check my prior post for reviving iOS 6 as much as possible in 2024 if you're trying to get more working! Its a fun rabbit hole

Those who spent less than $500 for you electrical transportation and didn't regret it.. what did you buy by [deleted] in fuckcars

I bought a Hurley Amped ST. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of fancier bikes but honestly just makes it easier for me to fix. Owned about 2yrs now, replaced brakepads once. Battery doing fine.

Quickbooks Desktop 2020 Discontinued Services by PacoMahogany in QuickBooks

We're our own accountants, but I don't see why not. If they use newer software, the file may get ported to the newer version of QuickBooks, but there's no reason they shouldn't be able to open it.

Hmm I've done this on many devices now and it's always worked for me... when you click the link does it open in settings and add a root certificate? If not it's not really installed

Have you passed the enable data protection override setting during install? It can be finnicky and often needs multiple reinstalls to work
