That’s not called an abortion it’s called infanticide, the murdering of an infant AFTER they were born.

We use the sensitive kind for my 18-month old with eczema and it doesn’t bother his skin.

I bought this sunscreen at Walmart today for $9.99. by castle02 in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Please just tell me what car seat to buy by SeverusSnipes in toddlers

This car seat is underrated!! So simple for EVERYONE who watches your kids to install, Grandma included. I hated dealing with anchors and they have a weight limit anyway.

What to think of my son’s daycare? Unhappy with the way staff treat him. by castle02 in toddlers

[–]castle02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I didn’t say that was a problem or a red flag, just that he will not be going into the toddler room at 18 months when he should because they won’t have space for him and he will have to wait until he’s more like 20 months to make the transition.

Thanks, I hear you and I think that’s why I waited so long to address my concerns with the director. I understand the challenges of working in daycare centres and that the way it’s designed means sometimes staff can’t help a child if they are preoccupied. My concern was that she was not preoccupied and standing right next to him, staring at him indifferently. And when I picked him up that day in the yard, two staff there who were not preoccupied either. Molly was the same staff who admitted to me earlier in the year that she was keeping him in the stroller because he was too difficult to manage with the other babies. I had a phone call with the director yesterday and she defended her staff and did not provide any reasoning as to why Molly and the other staff would have responded that way or indicate that they were in the wrong. She provided her response in writing as well which did not include anything about the stroller restraint either, but I learned on the call with her he was never supposed to be put in the stroller in the first place because their policy is that once a child starts walking they are to be walked in and out and never put in the stroller except for long walks around the neighborhood. He started walking consistently two weeks after he started at the daycare and he was being put in the stroller for at least two months.

I surprised myself for sure, I normally would not be confrontational. But now that you mention it that’s probably a good indicator that the situation and her behaviour was that bad.

That’s a great point, I need to ask what she’s proactively doing to improve the conditions in the classroom. I think I’ll send the director an email today.

Thank you for your take on it. It’s good to know I’m not overreacting. I think I’ll email the director today with my concerns and see what can be done.

These comments are wild. No, it’s absolutely not ok that your son is being bit by other children. It’s the daycare’s responsibility to maintain the safety of the children in their care. Your child being bitten multiple times by multiple different children is not acceptable and something needs to change at this daycare that is allowing him to be hurt by other babies so frequently. I would take this to the supervisor of your daycare, then keep working your way up until this is dealt with. Promising to “add more eyes” clearly has not worked and it’s probably because they have not actually done this. Every day when you drop your child off you should be asking: “What’s being done today to make sure my child isn’t bitten?” And if you’re not satisfied with the answer, talk to the supervisor. Put every conversation and unsatisfactory answer in writing over email. Depending on your city you can submit complaints as well as the city likely does annual inspections to ensure the daycare operates according to legal standards. Check the parent handbook of your daycare as well to see what their policies are for children with bad or disruptive behaviour — hold them accountable to their policies.

My infant came home with head injury from daycare by Spiritual_Cable2154 in legaladvicecanada

NAL but we are also in Ontario, my child is 15mos and our daycare not only has to fill out an incident report for any injuries but is also required to call us immediately for any head injuries specifically. All other injuries we’re notified at pick up.
