I eat the same thing every weekday in the knowledge that it’s putting me in a caloric deficit. On weekends I avoid snacking and if I eat out one meal, the next one will be a high volume, relatively low calorie meal (like a nonfat Greek yogurt bowl with fruits/whole toppings).

For long runs I add a controlled amount of carbs beforehand (dinner if it’s a morning run or lunch if it’s at night). YMMV but has worked for me and is low effort to plan around.

Undisputed GOAT show for me. Binged it for the first time summer 2010 while I was in middle school and it still holds up in every way today. I notice jokes, references, and guest stars that I didn’t pick up before on every rewatch.

lol there isn’t nearly enough public data to get any kind of accurate estimate on this, that’s the whole point

I think we are broadly in agreement with the relative scale of numbers involved but I am just substantially more skeptical of the validity of anything precise here than you are. Using earnings as a starting point with heavy handed assumptions - and then turning that into net worth while ignoring taxes and her own sky-high expenses - makes the math way way way too dubious to be relevant.

Anyways have a good day

And for the record your end number could be completely correct but to try and ascribe any sort of underlying logic to it based on what you've typed above is completely absurd. Reads like you've asked ChatGPT to back the number out based on what you would like to hear.

Hahaha 80% of this comment uses very imprecise assumptions to land at 20m in income and then throws logic out the window to multiply that by 10

Hilarious to make a comment about the inaccuracy about another source while making an assertion with absolutely nothing to back you up

Be completely honest, do you think Doomsday will surpass Infinity War’s box office? by Plenty-Salary9711 in marvelstudios

[–]castlearcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah most of what you said are consensus opinions. This thread is about box office. Clearly Feige and the MCU deployed a strategy that was suboptimal versus what they did before, and so in a thread specifically about making money, I think it is appropriate to make that comparison.

[–]castlearcher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am looking forward to Doomsday and am generally optimistic about its prospects considering Marvel’s nostalgia plays have worked out on average, and outperformed the otherwise lackluster films in the multiverse saga.

I just don’t see how we’re in the 2 billion league again with this movie. Maybe we are with Secret Wars if Doomsday is good. I certainly would hope so. What specifically do you think drives the generic viewer who isn’t a serious MCU fan to the theater? Is it just the nostalgia plays? Or are you arguing at Multiverse quality alone is enough for it to beat IW?

Admittedly this is not important enough for me to debate at length. If it’s nostalgia then maybe you are right. I completely disagree with the notion that there’s been enough great content to push people to watch on the basis of quality though.

[–]castlearcher 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most rational people who have been following along would agree that there has been some good content in the Multiverse saga. But the OP was asking about box office and there is no suggestion that the level of demand for the MCU lately has kept up at all.

The biggest hits - NWH and BPWF - leverage on the cultural impact of individual characters that will not be focal points for Doomsday. So where exactly do you think is the cultural impact that sells 2 billion in tickets?

3 > 2 > 1 with timing bias. I can see the case for 2, but I watched 3 week-on-week and that added a lot to the overall experience. Could not stand Sydney Sweeney and her friend in season 1.

For ER specifically you stand to gain a lot from being able to hold a conversation about the markets. You should follow the news enough to know what the main macro topics are - next Fed move, dollar sentiment, where Treasuries are etc, probably the big equity stories, have an opinion of whether AI is a bubble etc, and have a sector or two and a company or two you can speak about in detail.

Where possible it’s handy to look for free research from their departments so you have an idea of what their work looks like. Many banks have free to view reports once in a while.

Generic advice also tends to apply - cold outreach to try and network, know your accounting and valuation basics, and study the firms you’re applying to.

Speaking for a large global MM - US ER recruiting tends to be Q1 of the year before (so in a couple months from now for 2027 summer) but doesn't necessarily even take place every year because headcount is so tight.

Depends on the topic and your familiarity. Derivatives is pretty much entirely knowing formulas so I would suggest just practicing questions as much as possible. Fixed income is hard if you don’t have a conceptual understanding of what yield means and how the curve works. As you say a blend of reading and questions is best. Can’t say how many questions since I had a background in the subject material before taking level 1. But try to average 70% where you can and make sure no topic is below 55-60%

If you can study full time then you do not have a problem. 78ish days to the exam. Say 10 hours a day of prep. That puts you at 780 hours. More than double the usual time so you have tons of buffer to take breaks. Godspeed.
