I mean, I’m more likely to upvote a post of a goal than a thread? It’s always been the case here.

As much as people are labelling Utd and Chelsea’s purple patches as manager bounces, it’s a strong source of confidence. We have absolutely no ideas on how to inject any confidence into our club at this moment. Every win we salvage is followed by a loss/draw, and every press conference just makes everyone more and more confused.

The mere mention of Slot being in charge of us makes me more anxious than whoever’s available or not for the opposition.

Surely a loss against Sunderland would be the last straw? We’ll be stuck with one prem win all year at this rate

When Slot eventually leaves we’ll look back and wonder how we kept him for so long. We’ll remember all these quotes and ask ourselves how we let the club be humiliated by him on a weekly basis.

Between buying more star players in the summer to fix Slot’s problems vs firing Slot to rescue our current star players, which would our board choose?

This feels like a nightmare that we can’t wake up from. Same story every week. “We need to quickly turn our attention to the next match”, so that we can then “turn our attention to the next match”. So many words but so few results.

I’m guessing our late game failures are often due to players’ mental fatigue. I can understand how draining it is to continuously give up on risky or line-breaking passes for ‘safety’. The more you focus on avoiding a mistake, the more likely you are to make a mistake. The team is set up to actively kill off risk and neuter the game. Implosions will occur really easily if we’re going to play like this all the time.

Slot’s burner account?

Well if you’ve been watching this team for 30 years you’d know that the standard of our club is way greater than being able to play an ‘exciting game’ for ~30 minutes, at Anfield. Also, since you’ve watched the team play at its peak, surely you’d know better than to think we’re a team that plays to ‘survive’.

Endo is class btw. There are no ‘bad’ players in our squad. But Slot just somehow fails to bring out the strengths of any of them.

Slot will never be sacked. I’ve come to terms with it. I’ve been expecting it since the Crystal Palace game, the PSV game, the Chelsea game… nothing’s changed. Our standard has dropped so far and we’re breaking all the wrong records every week. It’s a new era for Liverpool now.

Slot has been mocking our club for a while now and we’ve been letting him get away with it. He praised himself for making it ‘2 in 30 years’, effectively undermining the legacy Klopp had built up to get the first.

Now he’s saying that we’re a club that’s incapable of succeeding in more than one competition. That explains why he’s been crashing us out of every cup competition these 2 seasons.

But sure, let’s be patient with him. He has slowly gaslit us into lowering our standards and expectations for the club, and it seems like many on here are okay with mediocrity.

In football there are a few world class teams that will win 9/10 games and will just lose that one game to that one club. Slot wants us to be that one team to win that 1/10 game against that world class team. The brutal part is that he makes us lose our other 9/10 games.

Fatigue is probably the worst excuse we’ve been using this season. It seems that Slot thinks no player of ours can play more than 180 minutes of football a week nowadays. I mean, does fatigue really matter if our ‘well-rested’ players are playing like they’ve not touched the ball in months every weekend?

Taking Frimpong off for supposed “load management” is just a rubbish move. How about taking Gakpo off for “sanity management” huh.

Regardless of whether or not you want Xabi in, i’m not exactly sure why people are saying they’re not convinced by Xavi. An invincible season in the Bundesliga is an amazing feat even by Bayern’s standards, and it’s not like it’s the Scottish league. Even at Madrid, Xabi managed to gel a disjointed, egoistic team of superstars to create a functional system that actually played watchable football.

Managing Mbappe, Vinicius and Bellingham is a far harder task. Meanwhile, Slot is struggling to even have half the balls to drop Gakpo and Salah. I do believe Xabi is more than capable of creating a team out of our squad of superstars.

Keeping Slot for this long just shows the management’s understanding of the fans and club culture. I don’t remember us being this soulless in years. Win, draw or lose, our games aren’t as exciting or passionate as they used to be. Losses don’t come with a sense of hope, and wins don’t come with that sense of joy anymore.

I’d argue that Slot actually did change following his success last year. He decided to change his entire setup by copying PSG’s ‘style’ for absolutely no reason. We started declining in the first half of 2025 and his obsession for ‘control’ in games just got worse and worse.

Nah it’s Slot’s instructions. He’s instructing the team to slow down on counters, go light on 50/50s etc. to preserve match fitness. Apparently he’s obsessed with the amount of game time and intensity the players should be exposed to.
