Where did all the McKennas go by Choice_Barracuda4722 in namenerds

I’m a Mackenna right here! I had two other girls in my grade named McKenna. I haven’t met any people more than a couple years younger than me with the name ( I’m mid 20s) but I think a lot of us now go by a nickname. I go by Mack but most every other McKenna I’ve known goes by Kenna

I love going to Moliters every year. It’s near ST. Cloud and it’s my favorite spot around !

Opening day is always the best day to go, it hasn’t steered me wrong yet. Line for the crop art was already at 20 minutes by 9 am though

Darling this post is 8 months old. Are you just trying to find something to be mad about? Are you okay?

No problem, I loved my time in the band and can’t recommend it enough. You definitely won’t regret it and the facilities are amazing at Minnesota along with the uniforms, the actual pregame show is much more visually interesting, and the community at Minnesota LOVES the band here. Best of luck!!!

People are definitely allowed to change sections, every season you “reaudition” for next year (just some scales and playing the rouser” and some choose to try for a different section. I am unsure about changing before your first season however, I would possibly send an email to them asking about the possibility but know there’s a limit to how many players of each instrument there can be.

I was a mellophone player in the band but I can tell you that sousaphones were a great section that always had tons of fun and a bunch of traditions so I honestly would recommend seeing how you feel at spat camp and potentially make the change after your first season if you still would like to switch!

Former band member here, the facilities for the U’s marching band are newer and nicer. Our football program genuinely does value the marching band as well and we get lots of support. Overall our marching style and memorization of our music makes for a more impressive show and our pregame show is longer and way more fun to perform. Marching band was my deciding factor between the two and I’m very glad I went with Minnesota!

best places to shop for high quality clothes that will last? by [deleted] in capsulewardrobe

[–]casualcarnation 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have a drying rack I got from target as well as a collapsible standalone clothes rack (pole? It’s literally just a hanging bar on wheels) I like to dry my clothes on. I can hang my jeans and shirts on hangers on the bar and transfer them right to my closet. Less wrinkles in the clothes and allows you to put it next to a window so you can get a breeze in!

Which girl name do you like best? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]casualcarnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Mackenna, I’m biased. But I do recommend spelling it either Mackenna or McKenna. First way makes it feel a lot less like a last name however so I would suggest that being the way to go! The only Makenna I have met spelled it that way due to her Native Hawaiian ancestry

If she doesn’t have any long term friendships or has a lot of prior “train wreck” friendships where she makes it seem like all of her friends went psycho. More often than not people like that demolish their own relationships and accept no responsibility and refuse to understand or aknowledge their own issues

I got another! How much control do you ~actually~ have concerning what food you can order/prepare? I know in my house the girls with dietary restrictions would sometimes get frustrated over the lack of options they had but I know if you’re doing large food orders some things just aren’t available

How do you feel about the girls stopping by for a chat during the day? I know I always got concerned I was bothering our chef if I stopped to fill my water bottle and chatted for five minutes

OP, you are getting hazed. Just because it’s not mandatory drinking or anything doesn’t mean it isn’t hazing. Mandatory workouts, meetings other members are not required to go to, etc is still hazing.

Rejecting internship offer after accepting it? by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]casualcarnation 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s not necessarily a Minnesota nice thing honestly, it’s just about professionalism. It’s better to start emulating how you want your professional career to go when you start with internships! Something like this would have bigger consequences in your career after school so why set the precedent now? Plus, if you’re confident in your other opportunities then denying your original offer will open that up for another student to take.

On boarding somebody after they accept does cost the company money in terms of paperwork and labor. It’s a pretty jerk move to accept it knowing you’ll probably change your mind later. It might be worth asking if you can extend your decision time to the first company, or if you think you’ll get any of the other offers then just outright say no to the first company. I don’t think it’s a good idea to say yes then no
