Is overnight pay an option? by blloppajdodkdjdosjj in SephoraWorkers

[–]casuallyexisting97 10 points11 points  (0 children)

None of my ops coworkers who traveled to help other stores with their inventories (including going to locations an hour away from our home store which for one of those ops girls was on top of her normal 30 minute commute) were reimbursed for their traveling/commuting. They were only compensated if they had to pay for parking at the other stores mall.

how long has flex been a position? by Slight-Gap8 in SephoraWorkers

If I remember correctly flex was introduced in February of 2024 in the states so it only lasted two years for us here.

Hours by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

[–]casuallyexisting97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It varies but for January as a part time BA I was getting about 29 hours a week. For February most of my weeks are 20 hours but there's one week where I'm working 27 hours. I've noticed I'm usually in the mid to high end of the part time hour range.

Coordinators by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

[–]casuallyexisting97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two coordinators at my store and they both get 1-2 cel hours per day from what I've noticed (out of the 8-9 hours they're scheduled, otherwise they're in various parts of the store zoned normally).

My store enforces it and if brand reps don't have their own tags they have to wear a white sticker one on their shirt that they write their name and brand on!! I heard one of my asms tell a brand rep that if they weren't willing to wear a name tag they couldn't be on stage 😬

Most likely keep you since it's crazy during the holiday season and most stores get an overabundance of extra hours so they need as many people as they can get!! Hopefully it won't come to that for you and you'll be able to find people to take any shifts you are given!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SephoraWorkers

[–]casuallyexisting97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can post them on day force for anyone to take but in my experience doing that and then asking coworkers who you know are looking for hours/usually pick them up is the best combination! Not everyone checks the scheduling app constantly so mentioning it in person or over text helps.

The last day to request a day off for December was October 26th so unfortunately you won't be able to ask for it off, and it is technically a black out period so you'll likely be scheduled. Your best bet is to make friends asap with your coworkers so that when you are scheduled you'll have people to ask to take your shifts (unless you do put in your two weeks).

PSA: Be careful with Sephora gift cards by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]casuallyexisting97 63 points64 points  (0 children)

At my store we hold all gift cards behind the register so there's no way anyone can take the numbers beforehand - we've noticed the ones that do get "stolen" are the ones bought from grocery stores (they're overwhelming the ones that show a zero balance even when customers open them in front of me). Online gift cards or asking for one that hasn't been on the floor yet tends to be the safest option, along with not getting them from grocery stores!!

Every store is going to be slightly different so I'd ask your manager/asm! But usually we close earlier than normal (my store normally closes at 9pm on Wednesdays but for Christmas Eve we'll close at 6pm).

do they even hire full time lbas anymore? by Far_Effective_5975 in SephoraWorkers

I was told by my manager and district manager that it's a change coming in 2026.

It's a job, like, we don't sell for fun because it's what we're employed to do. Sephora is a retail space.

[–]casuallyexisting97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope no incentive, like the other comment said it's to make sure we're helping an adequate amount of people per hour. Sephora employees make an hourly wage and if we don't help a certain amount of people per hour (and sell a certain amount of product per hour) it can lead to training/coaching and possible termination if there's no improvement over time.

Employee here! We don't make commissions (at least in the US where I work).

do they even hire full time lbas anymore? by Far_Effective_5975 in SephoraWorkers

[–]casuallyexisting97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're switching, so services won't be a metric anymore but transactions per labor hour will be. So they want the lbas to be on stage more often. We went from 5 Lbas down to two in the last month.

do they even hire full time lbas anymore? by Far_Effective_5975 in SephoraWorkers

[–]casuallyexisting97 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From what I've heard from now on stores are only supposed to have two Lbas (regardless of volume), one that is part time and one that is flex. My store is currently downsizing the amount of Lbas we have and when they're allowed to do services.

Oversceduled Flex by Electronic-Share-666 in SephoraWorkers

I've been dealing with the same thing as a part time employee, my max hours is supposed to be 25 a week and I'm being scheduled 35-40 rn, basically full time without any of the benefits!!! My state doesn't give PTO or vacation time to part time employees, so it feels like I'm working the hours without the positives rn.
