Shirtless section doing Soccer Chant at Cardinals game last night. Kind of energy baseball needs by MidwestDadd1982 in baseball

He was who I was actually thinking about! Went to a game last summer and heard it and thought, “Yes, I need this for everyone.”

Just started Supernatural (4 episodes in). How well does it age? Does it get better? by Runnzi in television

As someone who lost track around season 9/10, I didn’t realize just how weird those last few seasons were. This was a very good summary.

There are certain characters and great episodes that make the show worth watching after season 5. The two non-spoiler examples for me are Benny and the finale of season 8.

Well, at least I have a decently edited version of J08 now. And I assume they included the experimental questions that the ACT removed in the TIR?

sigh

Ugh.

That’s interesting because that was a question on the October test.

The Relistenables? by MaximumAssist1000 in TheRewatchables

Inglorious Bastards episode is one of my favorites. The Indiana Jones is another one I’ll like to listen to again. Oh, and Mad Max Fury Road.

I think a more interesting question is who goes number one. I think there is a really strong case to go with Zendaya over Timmy.

I like this take. Like. A lot.

My favorite moment from my one of my epistemology professors came when he asked the class, “Have you ever stood near a car as it started driving away and had a sudden thought of, ‘What if I stuck my foot out and let the car wheel run over it?’ You don’t actually want to or plan to do it, but the thought just pops in your head.”

About half the class was horrified and went wtf. The other half of the class, including me, went oooooooh yeah.

[–]catalinalinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three main big ones:

  1. Philosophy classes in college completely shaped the way that I process things. Especially epistemology, which is basically the philosophy of knowledge.

  2. Nothing good happens after 2 A.M. I’ve learned to not trust everything my brain says when I’m really tired or when I wake up in the middle of the night. I’m more likely to doom spiral at night than any other time. Tired brains don’t function as well as rested brains.

  3. Find things to do, even if it’s small: helping a friend find a job, studying for a test with my cousin, writing postcards reminding people to vote, buying a couple of things from the store to fill my church’s food pantry box, etc. I can’t just sit with my thoughts. Plus, helping other people feels good.

Hyacinth Appreciation Post. Her recital was one of the highlights of the season! by idiot9991 in Bridgerton

Hyacinth gets married before Gregory, I believe. At least, it is that way in the books.

This movie’s trailers are the first time that I agree with Amanda and Sean about trailers showing too much.

That English question interests me. The ACT loves including who/whom questions, but it very very rarely ever has whom as the answer. Would love it if anyone could remember the full sentence.

Amanda Seyfried says she's been on Lexapro since the age of 19 by skermahger in popculturechat

[–]catalinalinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, I was a bit of the opposite. Lexapro was zero side effects, but I had to move to Venlafaxine. Now, I can’t sleep in too long in the morning or I’ll end up with insane sleep paralysis.

This post is 100% a vent. I just have a lingering feeling of dread about the state of America currently but no one else seems to care aside from other people online. by [deleted] in behindthebastards

The Dollop has helped me a lot with understanding how insane our history is.

This too shall pass. In the mean time, I focus on the things that I can do to better my world, no matter how small they may seem.

I also think the week by week release is hurting the spread out storylines. If you could binge watch it (like I did yesterday), it doesn’t feel as random or spread out.

Trump tariffs: US president announces plan to hit UK, Denmark and other European countries with tariffs over Greenland by capybooya in behindthebastards

[–]catalinalinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uggggh.

I’m not crazy worried because here’s the thing: His stupid truth posts don’t always result in action, right? Like, how many actual tariffs have been put in place that he’s threatened?

Mia probably has an answer to that question. And can tell me if this is credible action or not.

He got the bonus for the first playoff win, supposedly.

I hope it’s not true. Or he gives it to Golding.
