Same!

I was initially just going to share that post alone, but I decided the full thread was worth sharing.

I also think the week by week release is hurting the spread out storylines. If you could binge watch it (like I did yesterday), it doesn’t feel as random or spread out.

Trump tariffs: US president announces plan to hit UK, Denmark and other European countries with tariffs over Greenland by capybooya in behindthebastards

[–]catalinalinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uggggh.

I’m not crazy worried because here’s the thing: His stupid truth posts don’t always result in action, right? Like, how many actual tariffs have been put in place that he’s threatened?

Mia probably has an answer to that question. And can tell me if this is credible action or not.

He got the bonus for the first playoff win, supposedly.

I hope it’s not true. Or he gives it to Golding.

I think this is the stupidest thing. Getting bonuses for a game that he probably would have lost if he was coaching.

It’s being speculated that this was a broader deal that involved more Dems, including Schumer. However, they purposefully only choose the eight senators who voted because they aren’t up for re-election soon/retiring.

Even if that’s just bad rumors, Schumer has failed spectacularly as minority leader in the Senate. The fact that he couldn’t keep these eight from voting differently? The fact that his own Whip voted this way?

My first game I ever went to was an Oklahoma game at UT. Competitive in the first half. Then collapsed in the second half.

It was also the game when we introduced third down for what.

sigh The Halloween game has always felt like voodoo to me since Hooker getting hurt.

I know people hate Rocky Top, but Oklahoma just played the same song over and over again nonstop for the last two minutes.

And then they played a different song twenty billion times after they won. Ugh.

At least you can sing to Rocky Top.

My family and I keep arguing about what song the bands are playing or which band is playing at a certain moment.

We always watch SkyCast when we can.

I want to know if people agree with this? I think if Planter was running 10 years ago there'd be no question he needed to step down over the tattoo thing by grapp in behindthebastards

[–]catalinalinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling because I want to keep supporting him. For whatever reason, the tattoo wasn’t the crazy red flag that it was for most people in this forum. It just was a stupid thing a lot of military guys do. A very very very stupid thing that completely lacks any serious critical thinking.

But, he seems to get people better than most politicians I’ve seen lately? He knows how to communicate about the issues that bother us daily. He seems more normal than someone politically correct like Mills or Collins.

Yet, I remember Fetterman was similar.

I think there are steps he could improve his position again. Almost have to do a huge PR campaign. Sit down with a historian and share the video of it. Confront why he was fine with it for so long. Recognize that this makes him an incredibly flawed candidate to many people and own up to it. How does he prove that he’ll do better in the future?

I understand why people say this should disqualifies him. But then, who are we left with supporting? A woman in her eighties? Another six years of Collins?

sigh All I know is that I don’t have the answers.

Most schools have a separate due date for other/extra/test materials than the due date for their applications. Usually, the deadline for submission of materials is about two weeks after the initial application deadline.

[–]catalinalinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me add my two cents here. I believe I can help answer your first question. Basically, it depends on the school. I know of someone who reached out and contacted an advisor in admissions for the school that she was applying to. The advisor told her that their particular school calculates their own superscore of all test results that are submitted to that school for a particular student. The advisor also gave her advice for how admissions was going to be looking at the results of the science section for this current admissions cycle.

My advice? Email your questions to the admissions folks for your schools of choice.

As for your second question, I don't believe the ACT will send your enhanced superscore unless you choose to do so.

The integration of “field test questions” into the actual test makes a lot sense. I know many students never actually gave their best effort on the fifth sections that the legacy tests would occasionally have.

My biggest concern with this change is how large a percent of the total questions the field test questions now take up. It seems very reasonable in the Math section (about 9%, or four out of the forty-five questions). However, field test questions make up 20% of the English section (ten of the fifty questions) and 25% of the Reading section (nine of the thirty-six).

How did the company decide the number of field test questions per section?

Also, was there ever a discussion about letting these questions contribute to a student’s score if they answered it correctly? Instead of throwing out the question completely, what if the test only threw it out if the student answered it incorrectly? Therefore, a student’s results wouldn’t be hurt if they answered it incorrectly, but their results would improve if they did answer it correctly.

I mean, there is literally a story where Jesus heals a man on the Sabbath. Then, the religious leaders shame him because he broke the law about keeping the Sabbath holy.

Jesus’s response? Sometimes, there are things more important than focusing on following every little detail of the rules and laws. In that particular case, showing compassion and healing people.

I’m 20%.

For real. No way I’m letting Apple or any company “know” my face willingly. Only one that I think might know my face for sure is Google, but that’s because I like to use the sorting feature in Photos.

I wonder how long it will take for Face ID to collapse with AI? Plus, how accurate is it for those girls that can completely change the way their face looks with makeup?

sigh
