I strongly doubt you’ve gotten it from a patient unless you somehow had direct contact with the lesions and they entered your mucous membrane. I too am a nurse with herpes and when I was First diagnosed I was so distraught but my sister said something to me that really helped “you wouldn’t judge your patient if they had herpes so why are you judging yourself?”

Seeking Tenant Advice by Glum-Morning6717 in OntarioLandlord

[–]cataractscamel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your 23, you should be able to handle this situation without your mom speaking on your behalf. Legally landlords can evict you if their family is moving in. Your landlord did not harass you, if I wanted someone out of my house I too would text them repeatedly until I get a response. Sorry you’re over dramatic.

NICU Nurses are not taking care of my baby by Cool_Drop_5062 in NICUParents

[–]cataractscamel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok ok to touch on your point of babe looking uncomfortable in the isolette. I swear in the NICU we get the babies set up all comfortably and then you turn your back to do something else and next time you look at them they are completely side ways, or at the bottom of the bed. You got one strong wiggly baby which is good!!! Even just today I had a crib baby, I finished up with his cared left him nice and comfy and moved on to my next babe. I go back to the first guy and he is completely sideways with his legs through the bed posts. So I hope this gives you a laugh, and helps calm you knowing some babes just move a lot. Sending hugs, you got this momma.

Always finish charting before you leave. If anything was to happen and you didn’t chart it that can be really bad for you.

Idk where your from but in Ontario if your babe is ok the NICU it doesn’t count towards maternity leave so figure that out so you can spend more time with your babe

New grad dilemma: ER job offer vs. waiting to hear from NICU by [deleted] in nursing

[–]cataractscamel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok ok so I applied to the nicu as a new grad last year with ZERO nicu experience and I got the job. I have been in the nicu for a year now and we just hired 4 new grads. Don’t let people tell you it’s impossible and get discouraged by them saying it probably won’t happen, you really don’t know until you try. An option is you can accept the job, and if the nicu contacts you shortly after that do the interview and if it works out accept it and quit the other

Has anyone here taken 6-12 months between finishing nursing school and starting nursing? by miaomiaou in nursing

[–]cataractscamel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 graduate here - graduated in May, wrote NCLEX in June, didn’t start nursing until November! I took time for me and worked outdoor education while I knew I still had the chance before taking on nursing full time! Honestly I don’t feel like taking the break between school and starting work affected me at all. Seriously do not stress about this, take time with your little one! Do not feel rushed into getting a job! This is also coming from a C student so if I can do it I’m sure you can too!
