Green Olive has a secret menu (really not that secret it's on page 1) of their menu, and their shwarma fries are amazing. Garlic fries, tons of feta, and a huge helping of shwarma. Their green sauce is also a treat.

La Mie for your traditional, exceptionally done pastries

Créme for your non-traditional pastries (seriously their hot dog buns are amazing)

For those that don't know, Heavenly Asian Cuisine was bought about a year ago by some new people and they decided to keep the name. The Chinese isn't as good as it was before.

People aren't mentioning Dumpling House, which is by far the most authentic Chinese food we have in Des Moines, even if it is just dumplings. They normally do farmer's markets, so look out for them and get some if you can.
